2005 Toro Z-Master Z597D - PTO Disengaging
8 years ago
Z-Master Z597 Diesel 72" Zero Turn. The PTO disengages after about 15 minutes of mowing. Found a loose connection at alternator and fixed. Found that the battery is putting out 12.8v with mower off. Alternator shows a constant 14v +. Brand new Xtreme Clutches electric PTO and the problem is still there.
Wiring runs directly to the PTO switch and to multiple sensors. Just cuts out without stalling engine. The relays don't appear to be linked to the PTO in anyway as far as the wiring. However, the stock wiring appears to be too thin for such a large electric PTO (which probably runs over 7 amps DC). It looks like 18g wiring and SHOULD be run off a relay before the switch. Does anyone have experience with what might cause this?
