shopping issues

So today I dared to go swimsuit shopping. We all are still wearing last summers swimsuits because they still fit. But from wearing them in our pool everyday they have gotton so faded and my younger sd's swimsuit bottoms have actually stretched out to where she is pulling them up all the time. And my older sd's top began to snag and has started coming apart too much to really fix. The boys shorts have both started to come apart too because they have snagged them on stuff playing in the yard after swimming. So anyways they all NEEDED new swimsuits.

So I figured that swimsuits are on clearance in most stores now with summer being half over so it was a good time for us all to get a new one. We are going away this weekend and will be around a beach and pools and have a few other times coming up where we will be at pool parties, waterparks, etc. and I would like us to look presentable.

So off we went to swimsuit shop. Boys suits were no problem. Mine was actually easy to find too (for once).

But when it came to my sd's (11 & 13) it was a problem! The 11 yr old still wears girls sizes and I could not believe how revealing the girls section swimsuits were! They were either very tiny bikini tops or one pieces that were too low cut and even the back and sides were cut out! I mean who dresses their girls in these things???

Then we went to the juniors section for my 13 year old sd and the swimsuits got even worse! I refused to buy either one of the girls one from there-Walmart- (and they did not want one from there either because they were too skimpy) They actually both looked at them and laughed about how cheap it must have been to make them since there was almost no material to them!

Off to KMart we went. Same problems there. We happened to find two different cute tank kinis in the womens section that was there sizes and we got them. But I could not believe how much styles had changed from last year when we bought swimsuits!
