Stepfamilies

Hello, I am new to this site and was actually browsing online and came across this site. I wanted to see if anyone might have a similiar situation as I do that may offer some helpful advice.

My fiance has 2 boys (12,8) from a previous marriage and I have 2 kids (9, 4). We are getting married in 3 weeks (8/23). We have been having problems with his kids refusing to come to over on scheduled visits. The children live with the mother and her family. The divorce was ugly and they have been brainwashed with nothing but negative things about my fiance and I. My fiance is torn because he loves his kids dearly but he doesn't want to hurt them by forcing them to come. When they call to tell him that they don't want to come over on his scheduled weekends, he gets upset because he is hurt about not being able to see them. When they are here with us, things are great. We are truly a blended family and everyone gets along very well. When they return home, there is no communication from them at all. My fiance tries to call or text and he doesn't get a response from them.

We have included all the kids in the wedding but with them being so unpredictable, I don't know what to do if they don't show up that weekend. I know that it will just break my fiance's heart if his kids are not at the wedding but if the kids choose not to go (maybe because of influences from mom and family) then should he force them to be there? He has court orders to have them on that weekend. I just don't want them to say that we never tried or didn't try hard enough. I've really been stressed about this and not sure how to handle the situation.

If anyone out there has been put in a similiar situation please let me know how you handled it.

Thanks,

Luvfor4
