:) Thanks All! This tomato plant is just crazy! I put manure around it when planted, that has been it. I really have neglected it. Was planted where a barn/horse stall used to be so maybe that has something to do with the health/growth. And believe it or not it is just one stalk.....has not rooted anywhere else. The wind this past week did a real number on it....almost knocked it over (Thank god I had a post behind it to catch it). Some of my other mater plants will be producing in a month so I won't be so upset when the time comes to rip it out. Jennifer

Jennamae, About blogs, there are lots of places where you can set up a free blog. Or one that is quite reasonable. You can set up free blogs on Wordpress or blogger (which is different from blogher). Both have a lot of options and it seems they keep increasing what they offer for free which is quite nice! Wordpress does have a lot of very attractive templates but blogger might be a little easier to set up. There is Typepad also which is excellent. There is a fee but it is reasonable and they have many great templates and options. After you set up a blog, you can then set up a feed with feedburner. People can subscribe to your blog. This may sound overwhelming. But once you get into this, it will make more sense as you go along. In fact, I'll warn you that it is probably addicting! :-) You can even have your domain name that you use for your current website be used as the domain name for your blog if you want. You might like the options that you see for blogs so much that you may prefer to use a blog as your main website. The different blogging sites give instructions on what to do to have traffic to your domain name go to your blog just as though it was set up with your domain name originally. Then there are the social networking sites like Facebook. I haven't done much with those but people sure are using them! So you might take a look and see if they'd fit in with the other things that you do to promote yourself. Promoting yourself can keep you very busy for quite a while! But what is nice is that there is so much that is either free or cheap online! Unlike newspaper ads which are very expensive. Ginny

Since I'm registered as a contributor with FindAGrave, I get emails when a request is made for a photo in my area. The only problem is, FindAGrave must think "my area" is awfully big! I've gotten requests for cemeteries in New York, as well as parts of PA that I never visit. Maybe this is because when I attended my cousin Terry's funeral in NY two years ago, I impulsively took a picture of a gravestone that caught my attention--and it turned out to be one that someone had requested. So I filled a request in NY, and I guess that set me up to receive other requests in that area. The other thing I do with FindAGrave is just photograph gravestones at random, and upload them to that cemetery's listing on the website as needed. Sometimes the deceased is already mentioned (has a memorial) on the website, and someone else has taken the picture. That doesn't happen very often, but if it does, I just don't upload mine. Sometimes the deceased has a memorial but no picture, and in that case I add mine. Most often, no memorial exists, so I create one, uploading the photo along with information such as name, dates, and links to spouses or parents. I just checked my FindAGrave status. So far I've only filled 16 photo requests, but I've created 492 memorials and have added 689 photos. I'm also registered at raogk.com (Random Acts of Genealogical Kindness), but don't hear from them very often.

@Sue I had to go to a ridiculous number of HomeGoods to find the two matching shades. I wasn't totally comfortable going into stores so I masked and gloved up, headed strait for the lampshade section, looked & left - unless I bought one, I was in and out in less than 10 minutes. I did zero browsing. In one store, you had to walk by the clearance furniture section to get to the lamp section. I saw the ED lamp and knew what it was because it was in my CoolStuffFile on Pinterest. I looked at it and my better sense prevailed. Four days later, I had the occasion to drive by the store and decided if it was still there, it would be mine. Someone had taken the nice lampshade finial and you'd have thought the socket was broken if you don't know about lamps. I suspect that was the reason it hadn't sold. I adjusted the socket right in the store to make sure it worked and home it went. We are in love. Chirp-chirp!
