Photos are useful but what we really need to see is a lay-out with dimensions. Photos require too much guessing on my part. For instance, looking at your photo, I estimated that you have about 96" between counters. Then I saw that you posted that your room is 12' wide and I realized that you have only 93" between counters and even less than that between appliances. Not that those 3" matter because at 93" or 96", your kitchen isn't wide enough to accommodate a skinny island, much less a kitchen table, not if you wish to have decent aisles. NKBA recommended aisle width for a one-cook kitchen is 42" and 48" for a two-cook kitchen. You can go with as little as 36" for one aisle but it's not recommended to go with aisles narrower than that or even all your aisles at 36" because that makes for tight work spaces (open fridge, range or DW door and you block the aisle). NKBA recommends 44" aisles around a table if you wish to walk behind diners and 36" aisles if you wish to squeeze behind diners. But you need to watch what appliances open into that space. You wouldn't - at least I wouldn't - want 36" between table and range, that would be unsafe. The kitchen in your inspiration pic is much wider than your kitchen. It's at least 40" wider, quite possibly more (as I wrote, photos require too much guessing). But don't despair. Post your lay-out with dimensions (see instructions at the link below) and we may be able to find a way to help you achieve a look similar to your inspiration kitchen. Manual says minimum of 2 5/8" for door to open 90". For the full 125" opening, clearance would need to be 10". We tested it yesterday by moving the fridge around and found that about 4" would be enough to open the door a bit past 90" and all drawers and shelves can slide out fully should I ever need to take them out for cleaning. One possible option is to put in a narrow utility cabinet in the corner and have the fridge go next to that. Ikea's narrowest is 15". I'd need to double check exactly where the water line is to make sure it would still be in the fridge area and not get stuck behind the utility cabinet. That may be my best option to avoid a large filler. Thanks all!

I would do a rectangle shape, no wider than 48”, and you might be able to get by with 6’ long. Your biggest factor is the size of your chairs. Benches wouldn’t take much room. I don‘t think they’re very comfortable but sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do.

You can not do an inset design of this complexity without an experienced kitchen designer on board, designing this for you. There will be thousands of dollars in mistakes, just due to you not knowing how and what to measure. You don’t know what you don’t know. Inset is not putting together a prefab doghouse. It’s building a space shuttle. 1/16” matter. Having a skilled installer also matters. It does no good to add extended stiles if someone has no clue how to scribe them to make them work. This is high level cabinet installation. Not throwing apartment level boxes on a wall with a couple of screws. You have to design to the level of skill of the installer. Or there’s also thousands in errors that happen. A DIY job is designed differently than one for a skilled and experienced cabinet installer. The installer won’t need to know to do some things.
