Lurker, finally posting. Hey, y'all!

I've been lurking, I admit it. I kept postponing posting until I could figure out how to post pics, still don't know if I have it straight!?

I love reading everything and like everyone, I want more pics!! The good, the bad, and the ugly! I have been learning from my mistakes, mostly, but y'all have saved me a time or two with the tips I've read.

I've been mosaicking for about 3 years. I run hot and cold. When I get tired of it, I stop for months. When I start again, I'm obsessed. I teach school, so when summer started, I got busy! I completed the bird feeder (not the best pic, it really sparkles), and I'm ready to grout the gator (again, not the best pic, it's about 5 feet long) and I'm working on the dolphin bird bath. Any comments or suggestions are welcome and encouraged! I also LOVE constructive criticism.

You ladies have inspired and motivated me and I want to sincerely thank all of you!!

Wow. great work and welcome!!!!!!!! Just jump into the crazieness!

Did I miss something? I didn't see the gator, bitdbath and bird feeder.

Thanks LadyTom for your recipe. I put leaf mold, wood ash, and composted manure and a dab of bone meal into my tomato holes this year. That should have produced gobs of big tomatoes. I agree that the night temps are likely the culprit for the tomatoes not setting fruit. It has been a bit cooler at night lately and the Kalman's Hungarian Pink Paste tomato plants finally started making some fruit, but not many. I am getting a 2nd batch from my Better Boys, though. Yippee! We got some good amounts of rain here on Turkey Ridge this past weekend and with the cooler temperatures, my herbs and flowers just burst into bushy new growth and lots of flowers! Incredible! Hope the tomatoes I have left will do the same. Thanks for the recipe. I will certainly try it. ~ SweetAnnie4u

Actually it was funny I was checking out when he found me. I'd told him I'd be in back of store at Home Decor section. But he took awhile in Men's Dept, and I actually went thru my section pretty fast I guess. I kept watching for him, and finally figured HE was probably up front waiting on me. So it was a (nice) surprise for him to show up when cashier was ringing me up. LOL. Syble, I have that kind of small wall space above my kitchen cabinets. That is where my brown Hare in winter plates are hung. I love plates. I have quite a few rabbit ones, lots of greyhound-whippet ones, and some horse ones. Plus the ones you saw in that curio. Tammy, I did see a teapot but it just had a tiny cardinal on the lid. So didn't look like it went with this creamer. I sure wish they'd had the sugar to match it tho. hugs, Karen

Thanks for the compliments everyone. It makes me feel great since I have been going thru old posts admiring everyone's work. I used 3/4" plywood for the gator. It is supposed to have a mirror in the center. I'm considering making my life more difficult and having the center lighted. I'm thinking of building some kind of shadow box frame to attach to the back so I could glue onto the glass and then stick xmas lights inside. He will eventually hand on my shed. What do y'all think? I've had to grout him in sections. We've had a horrible heat wave for the last week with temperatures over 95 every day. I can only go out in the mornings and I'm REALLY not a morning person!

Hey Bugs, welcome! and looks like you got the kinks worked out of your pics before I checked out your thread. My favorite is the red hibiscus stepping stone, but it's all good! Where are you located? You say "ya'll", and have LSU on a stone, and Gators...hmmmm? Somewhere southern is my guess :) I'm in north central Arkansas. Welcome, again!
