This is our shower in progress. The tiles actually have the bamboo texture but it isn't too obvious. I agree with enduring that if you want simple and uncluttered look you might want to rethink accent tiles. Or use them very sparingly. I've seen large 12x24 tile showers with small amount of solid color glass accent tiles and they look nice. Not sure if granite mixed in will work because granite tends to have very busy patterns.

I think in these crazy busy days, food as a gift is a great idea! Not just for baby showers, but other situations as well. A colleague of mine who I also consider a friend and my office husband is going to be taking care of his next fiance next week after he has knee surgery. They live a few blocks from me, and I was just thinking last night that I will fix something easy to reheat and take it to them on the surgery day. That way nobody has to worry about either fixing dinner or ordering in/picking up. Anyway, I say great plan and bon appetit :).

Thank you! Anele - Ha, oh wow! I can't imagine someone buying that but if you had the space and the extra cash... She'd be the talk of the town with that in the backyard, lol. Oakley - Yes, I love wearing different hats on him! I just bought a crochet aviator hat. Really wish I knew how to knit or crochet! Busybee - I like the idea of adding both the cookies and cakepops. Red -They did that at a shower for my friend recently and I thought it was a great idea and am going to mention to please consider a book instead of a card in the invitation. I would rather spend money on a book that benefits the child than a card that, most times, is thrown away. Maybe that's a common thing to do now but I never heard or thought to do that until the recent shower so thanks for mentioning it. I'm a visual person so I think I'll do some creative mock ups. I believe I'll have a much easier time deciding what I want to do if I can see it. Thanks and I'll report back!

@daratwist, here is a pic of my shower pan. Of note, this is when the shower was brand new and before the doors were installed. This is about 4 years later with my microfiber fluffy drying towel that I use daily to clean the walls and niche and glass. I clean the floor and the sweeps on the doors a few times a year. I am the only one using the shower, except for the occational guest. Otherwise the floor would need more frequent cleaning I believe. The point I'm making is that after 4 years my 12x24" porcelain tile with epoxy grout looks like the day I finished it 4 years ago:
