I am in same predicament, wanting something different. I did find that home depot sells a contemporary looking sogi screen looking bi-fold, it use to be order only but now I see the have them in stock. It is not on the web site, you have to go in. Other option I considered is tweeking Ikea's bypass doors but that just sounds like a ball of wax! Please post again if you find something else exciting.

jjazzy, I didn't see the sogi screen doors at Home Depot. Do you know if they come in the size I need, I would love that look? I've been thinking about converting 3-28" doors to sliders.

Moonsma, it is an item that I think was once special order and now is avail in 24 30 and 36 inch size and the stock the chocolate color. Nuporte fold Aura home series. 3100-3680 this is the 36x80 size I assume the 30 would be 3100-3080 and so on. the 3680 was 238.00 an the 30" was 216.00 I love the look of the doors and the glass. I was at hd the other day and the door does not have a real quality feel but then again none of the bifold doors really do. the price is right I have considered making my own doors but the hardware would be a pain. I am going to post on the remodel site to see if someone has any ideas for a contemporary bi-fold door.
