My sink is 30 x 17 and I love it. 17 from front to back gives me enough room to have my faucet behind the sink in a standard counter depth. I think 17" is about the limit. You may be able to get an 18" sink in a standard counter depth, but it would be very tight.

15-1/2 is a standards size of europe sinks, but I never hear Ticor Company.. they don't even have an address on their website. ticorsinks.com

They appear to only be sold only at Galaxy Tool Supply, which many on this forum have been happy with. So I'm thinking it is maybe Galaxy's own brand that someone else makes for them?

Other sinks similar to this are much more money. Not sure where the added value is, if there is any.

Franke makes a fabulous single bowl that's 30x18x12 (they come shallower if you wish) I love ours.

you might chec on your faucet dimensions etc and see how much room you have. it's very easy though to use 2 3" angle fillers (or make it really cool and hang towel bars in them) and then bump the sink area out a bit. the look is great, and the function of that deeper cabinet area is hard to beat!

You might also check out the Franke Orca. It is an expensive sink but is also heavily discounted. The best deal I saw tonight is from Fauxsink.com for 585.00 with free shipping. Accessories like grids are extra, though. However, its interior dimensions are 18 3/4 x 29 1/2, but one end is a little smaller to allow placement of your faucet.

If you do a search for it on this forum you will find many people who write that they have it.

I don't know for sure if this is true, but my granite fabricator told me that the Ticor sinks are actually a private label version of the equivalent Kohlers and another higher end brand made in the same factory and to the same specs.

hollishenry - I wouldn't be surprised. I work in retail and you see this all the time. One of the reasons that these other sinks are so costly is because of the name on them and all the expense of the advertising. Same thing if you think of a generic drug vs. a name brand. There's not necessarily any difference, but you're paying for the name.

My KWC is about 31x18x10 and that is larger than the average. It and the similar size Blanco both had warnings about the size and making sure that you had sufficient fepth for the sink and faucet. I love it because I can put 2 cookie sheets front to back, one on either side and still heav the centr open -- not that I've ever needed to, but it might be a cake pan or roastin pan soaking on one side and a pot that I need to set down on the other.

I looked at the Orca, but because half of it is more narrow, those same cookie sheets wouldn't lay flat at all, and I was tired of trying to hold them up and splashing water rinsing them vertically. If it had been a tad bit larger, I might have one of those and never have gotten to this monster -- but DH and I both love the monster sink. :-)

Just so you know....Galaxy tool company also sells on Ebay. Many of their items are listed with a buy it now price....and also a "make an offer". I offered $150 on a $229 sink and it was accepted!! So you might even get a better deal on Ebay.

Oh,oh. Really? One half sheet pan won't lay down in the Franke Orca? That is one thing that made me choose a single. Its hard to believe, though. A half sheet pan is 12 x 18 and the internal dimensions of the Orca are 18 x 29 1/2, 15 1/2 x 29 1/2 on the narrow end. Even with the narrowing due to the integral shelf, seems unlikely the bottom is less than 12" wide. Did not look that small to me at all when I saw it. If it is, I may have to pay the shipping to return it. It is on its way to me now!

We have the D-shaped single Tricor sink from Galaxy. Bowl size is 21 5/8 x 19. Our faucet is mounted off to the side. I love it. I can fit a whole cookie sheet flat (I have the square air bake sheets). Our plumber was so impressed with the sink quality and price he asked for the website.

Granted, we have a small kitchen (10x12) so we didn't want a double sink or anything huge. Still, the Tricor has never seemed to small for me.

Our sink (Julien, 0 radius) is 30 X 17 X 10 (not sure if those are interior or exterior dimensions, but it's the size referred to with the model #). It's plenty big and we are very happy with it.

They do make a 33 X 17 X 10 as well. I think I didn't know about that size 'til after we'd chosen ours, and the website indicates that you need a 37" (?) or larger sink base cab with that sink anyway (although I'm sure they could have modified/notched the cab in order for it to fit had we so desired).

I guess it comes down to where to put the add'l 3"; counterspace or sink width.

I didn't test a half sheet in the Orca. My flat cookie sheets are 14x16 and I took one of those since they are a little larger -- it would not quite lay flat. The size of a sink bowl is generally measured at the top and the bottom is usually narrower becaue of the radius or curve of the turn from side to bottom. On a zero radius sink, you don't lose any of the width -- it is a sharp turn -- 0 degees radius.

We ordered a sink and returned it because the radius was so large that we lost too much space. DH then said he didn't care about the cost, he wanted the biggest sink we could fit in the space. That is how we wound up with the KWC instead of a Blanco -- the KWC dimensions were and inch larger in each direction and the sink was 16 gauge -- appealed to DH and gave him the biggest possibly sink in the space we had.

I love the look of zero radius sinks, but don't want to deal with keeping the corners clean.

I will have to wait until the Orca gets here and try it. I don't believe I have cookie sheets larger than a standard half sheet pan, but they are packed away, and I can't find them right now.

Oh, well, still think the Orca is a nice combination of size, function and style.

The corners aren't difficult to clean at all. Our sink's been in for about a year now and the corner's are gunk-free (I clean them with the same sponge I use while wiping out the sink, and rinse with the spray from the faucet, no special tricks or tools).

For those who are interested, the Orca is here and fits my professional Wilton half sheet pans flat with no problem, alhtough without the upper shelf in place. It fits the long way. If you use the squarer cookie sheets like lascatx they apparently do not. None of the more rectangular ones should be a problem. I was even more concerned about the reach needed to get to the faucet with the really wide sinks, since I am not that tall and don't have long arms, than cleaning, and I didn't want too deep a sink because I thought it would be hard on my back. I have heard mixed reviews about keeping the corners clean in the zero radius sinks. I do love the looks. If the Orca came zero radius, it would be awesome. Although, even among zero radius sinks there seems to be some differences in just how sharp the corners are. May the ones with a tiny radius are a compromise. Either way, it depends on what you like. I would be willing to get new cookie sheets for my Orca because I really liked it, and a further reach or changing faucets to make the reach easier, is worth it for a lot of people, with or without cleaning issues, just because they love the look of the zero radius and the really wide and deep sinks are more functional for them.
