My Week-End Treasures! old windows!!

Guess what??.....They were $2 each!! One stained glass one, going on the living room wall.......and two leaded glass ones I plan on painting chippy white (maybe). A bag of vintage jewelry for $5 and a lot of other stuff.

I'm working on some snowmen out of the salt and pepper shakers....check it out...

Love the stained glass window. Can't use a pair of those earrings on upper corners with a decorative chain going up to a fancy nail, can you? Wouldn't hold the window up, just makes it "look" like it does. Can't see earrings too well so don't know if they would look good for that. Snowmen salt & peppers sounds cute, I have a doz pair from Sam's club-GF works there & they got really cheap couple of yrs ago. Lots of great finds!! Jan

Bright - A friend of my husband owns the place. There are a lot of old cars out there and my DH was going out to look at some that he's interested in, so I went along. I never could pass up a good junk yard! There is probably 10 acres of old cars and cast off's out there, and I have my eye on a few more things. The owner is going to start cleaning up out there - so I offered to help by taking some of that old junk off his hands! twomonths - I found the basket I was looking for today, and I believe it was an old basket that was used on the handlebars of a bike, so that is probably how I will hang it on the bike. I do remember seeing an old bicycle seat laying out there though. I'm not sure it belonged on this bike, but if it's the right size I will bring it home. I will look at it again when I go back out. It was all rusty and will fit the picture quite well!

Good finds! My one find this last week is a grapevine 3' tall angel to add a few things too as a decoration for my booth this season - I paid $5.25 fir her at Good Will!!! I have shows or farmers markets every week-end so can't find mand finds like you :*(

Ah...I recognize the last one from Prim Mart! :) I love your windows. I want to try painting on a couple I have around here but I don't know where I'm going to put them! LOL The other day I thought about doing a pip berry wreath or something on one and hanging it in my bedroom instead of this one picture we've had for years, so I may try that when things slow down. Do you paint on the back of the window so that the painting is backwards or on top and seal? It looks like the later from the glare on the window but I can't be sure. Wonderful work. I hope your mood turns around for the holidays. I know what you're saying, though. I'm getting that "blah" feeling. I think I'm just worn out and I have so many bah hum buggy family members that just brought me down with them. Why can't people enjoy Christmas and just stop complaining for a change, anyway?

I am leaning towards CertainTeed landmark pro Charcoal black because it is grayer it’s softer than miore black although it will look black in the shade and clouds. Miore black has a lot more variation than what I am looking for. This has been a tough one for me as well. I called Certainteed they gave me a bunch of phone numbers of companies who have used Certainteed charcoal and miore Black on residential roofs to get addresses in my area. I drive around to look at these which helped a lot!! They are close in color but the moire black just seems to much in darkness and variation. Charcoal black just enough variation and softer... CertainTeed customer service agrees. I had the higher end Timberline charcoal as 2nd in line. I like it but I am looking for the best quality and I feel I’m getting that with CertainTeed landmark Pro. BTY THE COLORS BETWEEN LANDMARK AND LANDMARK PRO ARE VERY DIFFERENT! So when you read everyone’s comment make sure they are talking about Pro or Regular Landmark. I dodged a bullet after figuring that out!!

I'm amazed at the windows. Never see that price around here. Great finds! I'm jealous cuz the yard sales have about dried up here due to very cold weather and I hardly went to any due to commitments on Saturday mornings. Ah well. There is always next year!

I know, I'm still doing the pee-pee dance over these!!! :D The stained glass will hang on the wall, but I'll rely on HossFly to attend to the hardware to hang it with. I bought some old wrought iron schoolhouse hooks a while back, I'm thinking if I add a chain to the window, I can make it look like it's hanging on that. The earrings will be for other crafty things, like the push pins or magnets for a memo board I saw someone make here, and to glue on top of my mosaic tea services.
