Leathered Antique Brown Granite with Calacatta Gold Honed
Comments (7)I first saw leathered granite about 4 or 5 years ago in a parade home. Instantly fell in love with it! Your choice of granite and finish is absolutely beautiful! Monica...See MoreAm I the only one...
Comments (1)I've seen prefab leather granite counters with full bullnose in a local tile store. The edge felt and looked the same as the rest of the piece. I would think someone would have bought them if they are making them....See MoreThere wasn't one today so here we go.. Another backsplash questio
Comments (3)I could also see a simple subway. If you don't have to make a decision ahead of time, I would wait until everything is installed. It's so much easier to look at samples in your finished kitchen....See MoreTentative about two tone is back...need your suggestions.
Comments (7)Tangy, The Antique Brown is a breeze for cleanup and nothing shows on it. I love it. Your slab sounds stunning. I hope you'll post pictures soon. I do all of my prep work on the island and so it is heavily used/abused and takes it very well. I think you'll be very pleased with it. So maybe using it on all surfaces is the most practical? I got a light polished granite called Shivakashi for my outdoor kitchen and, althought it was sealed, I have some grease marks that have soaked into it. I am not thrilled with that. That is the only experience I have with the light granite and I am glad that it is not in my kitchen. It could be other light granites are more stain resistant, but...I don't know. Since I use my kitchen a lot, I wanted surfaces that I knew I could abuse and not stress over. A light polished quartz would meet those requirements (and actually my leathered is doing well too). I would put the light granite samples through some heavy stain and oil testing before using them on an island. Good luck to you!...See Moregvstevens
