It wouldn't be so bad if the stuff was JUNK but its all stuff we need so I fight with it. I'm thinking about taking one of the old boards and making a large GARDEN SHED sign or something like that. Then a smaller TOOLS sign or something like that. Isn't there also a sign out there that says something about buying and selling used junk? LOL I'm sure the neighbors will love that! Most of my neighbors aren't that tidy, either. I think our yard is cleaner than some. Both of my neighbors have homes that need cleaned and painted, overgrown shrubs, actual junk sitting around and only mow or do work outside a few times all summer. A few doors down, they have about 20 junked cars in the backyard! LOL So this is NOTHING! It's just bothering me because last week I was up back playing with DD on her swing set and in her sandbox and the neighbor, his gf and his daughter (she's my age and I went to school with her) were out in the yard planting two trees. I don't think she realized that the wind carries stuff and I heard her make some comment about how I supposely thought I was better than everyone in high school (she did not know me very well then because I did NOT think or act like that!) and now look how I live! I live in a trailer but it's fixed up and the yard is landscaped and I have pretty flowers and items about. Many people comment on how NICE we've made the place! DH even went up in the woods and thinned out the weeds and jagger bushes and made us a fire pit and camping spot. The ONLY messy section is the board pile and what not beside the shed! It's not even JUNK! Oh, I was FUMING mad! I told DH when he got home that I really should have yelled back that I AM better than her! LOL Seriously, though, with her history, I can't believe she had the nerve to say that!

Margo, I've been following yours and the red shed girls adventure thru your blogs, you guys look like you had a blast! what a great lil junk vacation or heaven, whatever you'd call it! I love your blog, hafta go there almost everyday to see what you have cookin' in that creative head of yours! You got some awesome finds, I love it all. That scooter is adorable, as well as the stroller. I love your new gears, you're not selling those are you, they would look spectacular in your home. We get VERY little junk mail. I signed up to be on the Direct Mail Association's Do Not Mail list years ago. Here's what to do: 1) Save the labels off your junk mail. If you get a lot of junk mail, you should have quite a stack. I also save any labels for previous owners that come my way. 2) Once you've got a bunch, write a letter to: Mail Preference Service Direct Marketing Association PO Box 643 Carmel, NY 10512 Dear Mail Preference Association, Please remove the following names from direct mail lists: "Put the addresses from your junk mail labels here. If you look at them closely, there will be variations on your address. Include each variation, e.g. Firstname Lastname, Mrs. Lastname, Ms. Firstname Lastname, F. Lastname... you get the idea> Sincerely, Firstname Lastname 3) Save the letter on your computer 4) Print it out, sign it, and mail it. 5) Repeat as necessary... your junk mail won't cease immediately, but within six months you should notice a dramatic dropoff. When you first get started, you'll be doing this every few months, but now I drop a letter into the mail every year or so with the addresses from the FEW pieces of junk mail we get.

I can totally see why your new dil would go this route. I'm extremely shy and had a tiny wedding. It freaked me out walking down the isle in my big poofy dress. lol. Would never have had a big expensive wedding, couldn't afford it but that never appealed to me anyway. All that money spent for one day and most of those marriages don't last. If and when Lauren gets married, I think she will either pick a dark purple, black or red dress to walk down the isle...or something with polka dots. She's obsessed with polka dots. She also loves old fashioned dresses, from the 20s, 30s, 40s, and 50s. If she even has a real wedding at all....
