Thanks for the info, I wanted to make some plate flowers. =) As the for the glass, I seriously doubt it's tempered, too much work and cost to temper something that's going to sell for a buck. If you order tempered glass for a door, they have to run it through a special machine and it has to be a certain dimension to fit. I don't think they temper anything but plate glass with any regularity.

I think something like this that is rather fiddley might be a bad idea to try to make yourself. There are SO many parts to coordinate. Now if you were able to use hot glue and then perhaps wrap raffia or a pretty ribbon around them for extra security, that would be easier. You might at least consider something like that as a back-up plan. Oh, anytime you plan to glue anything to glass, test it first! There are certain types of glass that hot glue will never stick to (as I once discovered much to my chagrin!). Some alternative sources for twigs already wired together: matchstick blinds (check at Lowe's or Home Depot for the big porch-shading type; some are plastic, but others are bamboo), bamboo fencing (some heavy-duty cutting might be required), and bamboo placemats at places like Walmart, Target, Bed Bath and Beyond, and Linens n Things. A friend of mine had a fall-themed wedding shower. We used twirly stems from the dried flower aisle. They stuck up out of flower arrangements. You could find the twirly stems, or they have various types of twigs now. Monkey ladder is one of my favorites, but it's for a BIG arrangement. Or you could collect stems from your own yard--if your house is the one your daughter grew up in, that might be a nice sentimental touch. ;-)

What a cute idea! If it were my foot, LOL, I would mosaic the entire piece, then place a small tealight holder in the base. Hob Lob has small round glass holders which are small enough not to detract from your work. They run about 99 cents and in our area come in red, amber, blue, green and clear. They even go on sale half off now and then. Just an idea. I'm sure you can find one to go with your foot no matter how you mosaic it. Hope you will share pictures when you are finished. Have fun! KM

Well, I still haven't found them. The ones that I lost right after I bought them was the day I was going to knitting group, so Zipper could be closest, but I went thru my bag. Will do so again. Cynic, that's also a possibility, but I want a picture of a mini silver drwarf rabbit carrying off wooden blocks of rubber stamps!!!! I have been thru all the bags I've brought home in the last month. Only one closet is a possibility, I'll check that, cause it's where I hide presents. Soxx, that old lady lives here all the time! She could very well have taken them. Stoney, next time I go to KS, we need to get together! Hope you are close to the SE corner! We could make some beautiful cards together. What a deal! I think a cousing sells but I'm not sure. She's a day care teacher with a little 2 month old boy, so I bet she doesn't have much time for it right now, though. Jannie, you are probably right.
