Love, love, love those nail kegs! That metal stool has great potential too. And I totally love how your kitty manages to get into the shots!! Too cute.

I could see the kitty is wondering just what is going on in her backyard! Our rabbit used to get bent out of shape when I changed things. I have a barrel painted red when I got it at YS & it has held small tabletop for a Halloween party, is used to hold redwood chips for yard & room enough left for Bagged yard fertilizer., an old garbage can lid fits on top so I don't have to smell anything. You'll find lots of things you can use them for. Neat stool, needs to be a bright color! Jan

Me, too. I can see that I have definitely not been planting enough lilies, and not nearly close enough together. Rita, would you share with us how you arrive at a plan for your different beds and how much fine tuning you have to do once the planting is done? Do you plan for having different plants begin to bloom as others finish, or have whole beds that bloom together and rest while others take the stage? How do you hide all those lily stems that last on and on until frost? Thanks, Nell

Thanks palmcirtusbananavaz7! Dennis, I think the largest majesty I saw was in the part 1 of the pics. Im trying to remember if I saw a larger majesty palm because I think I did, but their definitely weren't too many large majesty palms. But the majesty palms I did see looked very healthy! We've been splitting our time 50/50 between Los Angeles and our house in Cathedral City (Palm Springs are), and we have nice, large outdoor spaces at both houses. I would like to have people over, but I don't mind staying in our houses for this period. I miss going to fabric stores. We have so much to do at both houses - much of it maintenance - that we do not run out of things to do. I think I prefer the house in CC because it has a pool, but it is a bit expensive to heat the pool in the dead of winter. It's no more expensive than cooling that house in the summer, however. We have bikes at both houses and go for bike rides whenever we want, although I will not ride my bike in CC in the summer - I just spend more time in the pool. My original plan was to rent the house in CC for additional income, and so our budget is stretched pretty thin now. Cathedral City put a moratorium on short term vacation rentals one week after we closed on that house, and so we haven't been able to rent it anyway. We're very glad to have it as a safe get-away, since not only are we prevented from air travel - we cannot afford it at this time. There are lots of places for us to go for hikes or mountain biking in southern California, and so there's always that. I stopped going to the beach on a regular basis when we moved from Venice to Westchester in 2009, and I do miss that a bit, but it's still there. However, I will not be going back to the Venice boardwalk until the pandemic is over. To answer the question: No, I do not find that the more I stay at home the more I want to. I definitely want to get out, but I'm not climbing the walls and am reasonably content.

I wish I could find some barrels like those. You have some neat finds indeed. Have fun using your imagination and creating treasures for your patio! I've seen the barrels as tables, planting flowers in them, or titled on their sides on the ground with dirt coming out of them and then plants planted in the ground beyond them. They would make a nice garbage can if you scrubbed them up and maybe painted them or put a coat of stain and polyurethene on them. Or use one of the bigger ones as a small hamper. We have five kids, so that wouldn't work for us, but....

Your kitty may make one his/her home all snuggled up inside if put on its side. Use them as end tables if turned upside down. Maybe add a spout of some sort to them. I had a small decorative barrel that had this wooden spout on it. Looked very cool. Not many ideas to give you off the top of my head, but I'm sure you'll find something great to do with them!

When I go to flea markets, they want your arm and leg for things. :( I do better at our local trash store. They go to estate sales and buy up what's left.
