Mojo - Go to "paintingonjars.com" a website by Cindy Trembley. She is one heck of a decorative painter and I've taken an on-line class with her. She has a few painting books out on the market (sold at Michael's for one place). She did a lovely painting on a wooden ironing board.

A real quick thought here, put shelves on the board and use it as a display for nic-nacs, plants, whatnots. Put door pulls/knobs on it and use to hang - well, hangy-down-things, hee hee (I thought that was cute, so I'm giggling).

great idea i am going to go to that site crafty....I really love this ironing board...and the woman who sold it to me got it as a wedding present back in 1945 i think she said.....and i love the sofa table thing to gonna see how it looks behind my sofa!

Mojojojogrinj, If you paint it, will you please post a pic over on the decorative painting forum too? I have one that was given to me, but the board has a split in it that I need to glue and clamp before I can use it. I thought about a santa, then thought about birdhouses on posts--just couldn't decide what to paint on it--so haven't done anything yet. Luvs

thats where i am at lol I actually love the way it looks as is....its white with chippy spots and you can see the orignal red paint through it..... usually i see something and instantly i have a picture in mind.... this one is like well if i paint it this way it has to be open...if i paint it this way has to stay shut lol so i might just leave it as it is....
