Almost--I had a paneled dishwasher that required pulls (for towel hanging) and put the same on the trash pullout so it wouldn't look weird to have them in one spot. All knobs would have been better, but for some reason I thought I'd want to hang a towel.

The drawers here are huge--two panels per drawer, about 40" wide, 30" deep front-to-back, 12" tall each drawer. Two knobs per drawer. No problem, even though these drawers were full of heavy stuff. Excuse the mess and the blurriness.

Fori, thanks for posting the photo. It helps to see that it looks good on the larger drawers. I was wondering what to do with the trash pullout too, since it just seems like a perfect place for a handle.

I have all knobs, but will have a refrigerator handle for my paneled dishwasher door. Works fine.

What's important is that they function just fine, no matter how stupid big your drawer is.

Actually, I wasn't so fond of my all knobs when I switched from wood to pewter. So I changed back to wood and am very happy again.

Wouldn't it be great if all life were so simple?
BTW, the wood knobs ended up costing me 89 cents per knob. Can't beat that. They will have to be painted though -all 53 of them.

Fori - I think they look great. :) I actually thought it was two sets of drawers and had to re-read your post that it was two panels. It's hard to tell, but the knobs on your cabinets actually look similar to one of the two I'm considering. Are they Top Knobs by any chance?

Mossfern - Thanks for posting. Do you notice that there is only one handle, or does it just blend in? Glad you had such an easy fix for the knobs. It sounds like you didn't like them because they were pewter and not because they were all knobs? That will be quite a job to paint them all. I hope you have help (or a painter)!

I had all wood knobs in my last kit and loved them. This time I did all wrought iron knobs. I wanted the smallest ones I could find. I love the look but function would have been better with slightly larger ones.

I love the knobs. Like others, though, I do have on long 18" pull on my paneled dishwasher, for hanging dishtowels.

I have all knobs. They are antique copper finish- cost me about $2 each. I installed them myself, and knobs meant less drilling and less $$$ spent. After 9 years I'm still happy. I have some 36" drawers, pretty shallow, used for utensils, and only put 1 knob in the center. The single knob works just fine, but I never even thought about using 2.

I have all glass knobs on my cabinets from Lee Valley Tools. I love them. On large drawers I have two. They work just fine for opening and closing them even though the drawers are filled with heavy dishes, pots etc. I like the look as well. Don't miss pulls at all.

Zip, on a side note, what paint color is on your walls and how high is your range hood mounted from the stovetop? Thanks!

Krazed, Glad you like our kitchen. The wall paint is a 50/50 mix of BM Metallic Silver and Feather Gray. The distance from the range top to the bottom of the hood is 30". I'm 6' and haven't had any head banging problems. The hood itself is 10" tall.

Yes, I would add to Burntfingers' post that I do prefer just one knob in the middle of the drawer, precisely to avoid that juddering side-to-side problem with 2 knobs.

Add us to the all knobs group! We debated about it but decided to simply my life and make all of them the same. Sorry, I still need to have my husband finish with pictures to finally post them to the FKB. Ours are an abstract design in fused glass that straddles the pull/knob concept. We can turn them several different ways depending on where it is and the grip needed. Happy to send you pictures if you PM me.

And definitely like the one knob on large drawers look too. The soft close mechanism really helps with the pulling action as well.

I have almost all knobs as well. Only have a few pulls to match the appliance pulls. The trick is to have a nice, big knob with an open back that one can slide a pinky behind to open with one's hands full or icky.

With high quality rail hardware and good cabinets there's no two knob juddering. I have 48" wide drawers (Blum hardware), which I always use only one knob to open, even though there are two well spaced ones. Absolutely no feeling of imbalance even when one side of the drawer is significantly heavier than the other. I have two knobs on perpendicular faces of my corner drawers and only pull one at a time. No issues with the operation. Just pull. (Been in the new kitchen over a year.)

The handle on the DW does not look out of place- it looks like a bar - 13 inches long. So it isn't pretending to be a handle- but an appliance pull. I found it better to consider my DW an appliance with a panel rather than to try to make it look like a cabinet door. The panel makes it blend in with the cabinets visually. The bar is handy and I can hang a nice towel on it to dry my hands after using the sink. I would advise anyone to do this.

As far as painting the knobs- I will expect my painter to do this. They did some carpentry (which they still haven't completed!) and have to do some touch-ups. The same painter is doing repairs and replacing my front porch (20 years old) and painting the exterior of my house. They are working slow as molasses and you can be sure they will not get paid until the knobs are painted.

This is a long tale of woe, but not for this thread.

Zip11530 - Hmmm, two colors I was strongly considering. Didn't think about mixing them. Glad to hear the range hood height is not a problem.

I will have to decide about one knob or two knobs for the large tall pot drawers. I like the look of two knobs on the shorter wide drawers, but not sure what I want to do on the taller drawers. Plllog, we have Blum hardware on our Plain and Fancy cabinets, so maybe the juddering problem won't be an issue for us.
