BOOKS - I don't reread many as there are so many unread ones I may never get to! It's difficult to name my favs as there are so many. TV SHOWS - Seldom are there fav old TV shows on my satellite system. Only things like Golden Girls or Star Wars which I did used to watch but wouldn't now. The old Hawaii Five-O I would rewatch but I don't enjoy the new one. I have watched reruns of Magnum PI. I've occasionally watched Mash reruns but they are not the same for me as they were back when. I would watch West Wing reruns more if they were on. MOVIES - Have seen Pretty Woman, Sleepless in Seattle, When Harry Met Sally, Notting Hill many times and will probably watch them more times yet. Watched a couple of James Bond movies yesterday for the umpteenth time. Have watched To Catch a Thief several times - love Cary Grant. Have watched the following Michael Douglas movies more than once each: The War of the Roses, The American President, Romancing the Stone, The Jewel of the Nile.

Ah yes, I know about the Elvis Jungle Room...it is famous among the Tiki crowd. I am not a follower of the Witco furniture style, but some collectors are gaga over it. Here is our Beach Bum Berry's Mai Tai (as close to the original as you can get). I made multiple batches up for my last party and put them in a glass self-serve vessel with a bevy of Tiki glasses and bowls of garnish. In your shaker pour: ~1 ounce fresh lime juice ~1 ounce Rhum Clément VSOP Martinique rum ~1 ounce Appleton Estate Extra dark Jamaican rum ~1/2 ounce orange Curacao ~1/4 ounce each orgeat syrup ~1/4 sugar syrup (I use Rock Candy) ~Add at least 2 cups of crushed ice ~Shake well for around 10 seconds ~Pour unstrained into a double old-fashioned glass ~Sink your spent lime shell in the drink ~Garnish with a mint sprig (very important)

On Wednesday I received my first ever senior discount. The cashier was ringing me up and then said that I'm not 55 or over, am I? I was kind of caught off guard but responded that yes, I am 55 but it was the first time I had ever been asked. It struck me as funny and I was laughing telling people that I just received my first ever senior discount. No one laughed with me, or congratulated me. I must have looked like as idiot. But at least I don't look 55! LOL

Color is my day-long obsession, joy and torment. Claude Monet I get this. An obsession usually equals torment. The obsession and joy with color is such that you can't look away and examine and reexamine shades and tints of a hue. Color can be hypnotizing. When driving in the mountains of Colorado during a snowstorm, I, as a passenger, watched a snow plow right ahead with a flashing blue light. I think time passed in an odd way; and I couldn't look away from the flashing blue.
