About 8 years ago, I bought a pair of wing chairs on ebay in the DFW area. I paid $36 for the pair. I had one recovered for the guest room in our vacation house, but I never could figure out what to do with the second one so I eventually donated it to Goodwill. The chair I kept is now on its second recovering and is in DD's LR. To find things on ebay, search for the item you want (club chair), then sort by distance. btw, the pair of burnt orange chairs (University of Texas themed room, anyone?) are also on ebay. $1200 on CL; opening bid of $1400 on ebay with a Buy it Now of $1800. I once made a large platform bed out of tongue and groove floor boards (basically like a big drawer). Very easy with minimal tools.

Thanks all! I thought this thread was done, glad to see we are still together! I'm pretty much convinced the sofa is here to stay. It has held up so well to kitty attacks, and I love the pattern. I think I am more tending to going in the neutral rug realm, thinking towards the lighter end, just to liven things up. I had looked into slipcovers or reupholstering the small swivel chair that shows up in some of the pictures (the fabric on it is shot and I would love to cover it up). I have to say I was appalled at the prices I was quoted--even a slipcover was the same price as the chair originally cost, and reupholstering went over the top. So, my goal now is to find the perfect neutral, low-maintenance rug that will get me away from all the brown. Thank you again, this forum is the best!

NSM, very well. I painted it five years ago. It cost me $100 to do the entire thing. Beats the thousands pros charge! and it was easy, so long as you follow the instructions to the letter. I'll probably put another coat on in the fall or next year, if I feel like it. I changed the hardware, and the new hardware is a different sizes, so a bit of the old green is sticking out from the tap. And there are two teeny chips on the floor, nothing you really notice, but I want to keep it up since I rent my house out. If you do it, let it fully cure, and then some, before using it. It'll hold up very well if you do. I'll go take a pic of it, NSM.
