Throw Pillows?

And now for a totally non-confrontational topic:

I'm looking for throw pillows. So far, I've tried JCPenney, Walmart, Target, Kirklands, Ikea, and ...I think that's it. Are there other places that are good for inexpensive throw pillows? Oh yeah, I tried ebay too but I'd really rather see the pillows in person before buying.

What colors or style are you seeking? What do you consider inexpensive?

One way to make inexpensive throw pillows is to buy the inexpensive down pillow forms from IKEA (or foam forms from other places)and use two fabric dinner napkins as the cover. Sew them around three sides, wrong sides together, right in the seam of the hem that already exists on the napkins. Then put in the pillow form and stitch the fourth side closed - easy to do by hand or machine.

Just a note...when you are looking at pillows try and buy the ones that have a zipper because those are the ones that have a pillow form in them. They're usually made well and the cover comes off for cleaning.
Have you tried Christmas Tree Shops? I found some lovely throw pillows there last year which had down inserts and zippers. I'm a sewer but for the price I paid and the quality of these particular pillows, it ended up being cheaper to buy them. The covers are a chenille which is perfect with our chenille covered sectional.

From just a visual take I prefer prints in front of solids ( unless the soda itself were a print. ). I know the scale is off in the mockup , but it looks like too much pillow. Unless your sofa is very deep, two pillows together will not be comfortable for sitting and pillow I’ll have to be tossed off. Plus, it’s overly matchy- match. Maybe search for some sofa/ pillow pics where there are related, but not completely matching, types of blue pillows. I admit this is harder though. Since sofa is all white, I also like for added soft colors to have some of the white. Maybe not so much if color scheme more punchy & graphic.

I only have inserts and then I hit the stores to look at their pillows where they sell the covers seperately and go home and shop e-bay if I like what I saw. I've picked up numerous pillow covers from Pottery Barn for a fraction of their cost.

I also shop the RH outlet for their covers.

I've not ever spent more than $12 on any good quality cover. And I have a nice rotating selection that's washable (priority #1 in my house w/ kids and enlightenment from Magnaverde Rule #16) and the covers don;t take up much space when packed away.

I usually do well at Tj Maxx and Marshalls too. Have you looked at Kohls?

I posted this late last night so I completely blanked on the names of the other stores I've tried: TJ Maxx, Home Goods, Marshalls, Pier 1 and Kohls...it sounds like I'm on the right track, do I just need to keep visiting and hope I hit the jackpot one of these days?

I like lush, plush decor. My family room is too practical and serious right now, so I want some lustrous/embroidered/textured/gorgeous pillows. Maybe in a medium slate blue. I don't like to spend more than $10 or $15 for each pillow. And yes, the main problem I'm having is finding pillows that have zip off covers. I can't have "spot clean" anything in this house because I have a severe germ phobia.

ttodd: when you say you picked up PB covers at a fraction, did you mean you got them on ebay after scouting them at actual PB stores first?
