hi, at that size I would not think they would hang to long
girls and women get to choose. and women are the ones looking mostly. but
where you live I would find a resale shop .
they give you a percent or buy outright .
if they are "hot" clothes they are going to sell anywhere. but.
also find out about the flea market go and look and find a booth that might take them and give you a cut ...
but.
I might also advertise in the papers the weekly one I,m sure there is more than one there I mean you can call that in and they are all the same size and nice and trendy I would sell then donate the funds if you want but those would be easy to get tid of .

Sort them out and take them to a consignment shop. Anything that the shop doesn't want, take to a charity. A battered woman's shelter is a good idea.

Also - we have a local charity that provides "business clothes" for people coming off welfare into the workforce. That might be the best ude of them for the work clothes.

Or, take the time to list them on eBay ... expect about 20% of the original price, or less.

You can also make quilts out of fabric, pillows and doll clothing. Or make a scrap rug or wall hanging.

Hey why not join Freecycle in your local area and give them away to someone who is in need of clothing that size? If it is ALOT of clothing split it up between 2 or 3 people and then you feel good about making someone's day by giving them some "new" clothes. Just a suggestion.

One thing for sure - victims of Katrina sure could use some clothing. We have some of the victims coming to Minnesota here and when I get clothing together for donation - I will know exactly who needs them. These are people who had need prior to the hurricane - I can only imagine what their needs are now.

I vote for battered women's shelters, or check to see if you have a Women's center in your town. They need these clothes for women who are going to work for the first time and have no money for new clothes.

if they are wool or cotton or silk you could compost them. ;) just kidding! i know you said yours are all in good condition but this is what we do with our clothes once they are worn out. they get torn into strips and tossed into the pile. :) i also vote for the shelter's. a lot of times these poor women leave with only the clothes on their backs and have to start completely over.

I see you are in the bay area. There is a charity in SF similar to the one lazygardens mentioned. It is called A Miner Miracle. They give clothes and confidence training to homeless people moving into the workplace.

I gave them a lot of clothes when I moved from an office with a "dress code" to a more casual one.

Donate to a womans shelter. Everyone needs a nice outfit for job interviews. And you'd be surprised how many slim petite women there are. My daughter wears double 0. I felt like crying when my (female) boss told me she cleaned out her closet and thtrew away 30 suits. Groan.
