In addition, we will no longer recommend in our literature that Rectified and Non-Rectified large format rectangle sizes (Ex: 12" x 24") can be installed in a brickwork or running bond pattern where the overlap is 50% [normal brick joint]. The reason for this is that the allowable warpage for a tile based on ANSI specifications can create an installation issue when large format rectangular tiles are installed in a brickwork/running bond pattern. This allowable warpage can create a scenario where lippage is inevitable given the overlapping pattern. To mitigate this effect, Dal-Tile will be removing the brickwork pattern from our catalogs and literature. This will be replaced by a new pattern that will be referred to as a "Staggered" brickwork pattern where the overlap does not exceed 33%, and the grout joint width must be a minimum of 3/16".

Thanks for the feedback! Just picked up 2 different "TEC" grout colors: "sand" and taupe grey... I was really looking to NOT having the grout lines stand out but let the breaking light (from under cabinet halogen lights) really show the glass lines and shadows. Well, I'll do a 'dry test' today and will post the finished product later.

Oh, I don't think this would be difficult at all. I think the hardest part would be mitering those tiles perfect like that. I'd probably try squaring them instead. If you glue the tiles tightly together, it doesn't even look like you'd need to grout it. If it were me, I'd start with a sheet of plywood cut to the ultimate size of your mirror (including the tile border). Have a glass shop make a beveled mirror to the size you want. Or if cheaper, find the mirror first then cut the plywood to the size of the mirror plus the border. You want at least 1/2" plywood to be sturdy enough. Glue the mirror to the center of the plywood, then glue the tiles around it. Just make sure if you do end up grouting it, you tape off the mirror to avoid scratching.

In case Jenn gets notifications on this thread, I have a similar problem. I wanted to use sconces but think there is not enough room so I think we might need to use a bathroom bar. How is the lighting you are receiving from the lighting? Are the shadows impossible? Troubling? Minimal? Thanks...should you see this.
