Prestonsnana, maybe they'd rust out too much in Washington to be popular there. I remember seeing them everywhere around Wisconsin when I was a kid. Very pretty red and that is a decent price for them. They were always fun to rock back and forth although they got hotter than heck in the summer sun! Around here, aqua was a popular color in these chairs.

I have Lloyd Flanders all-weather wicker - sofa, rocker, chair & ottoman. Have had ours for 11 yrs. Replaced original cushions about 6 yrs. ago w/ some from another online custom cushion vendor. Looked very pretty but they were not comfortable at all - solid foam and a little batting without much give. Bit the bullet & got new LF cushions 2 yrs. later, even though replacement cushions didn't show any wear (so uncomfortable no one wanted to sit on them..) Set looks brand new and is so comfortable and inviting. My advice would be to try to find a place where you can try sitting on the set - or at least one with the same type frame and cushions - before purchasing. Some of the lower priced sets are fine if they're for occasional seating, or mostly for looks. But if you're planning to spend a lot of time entertaining in the space or relax on weekends with the Sunday paper or a good book, I'd highly recommend a test drive.

Mtn, I recently ordered new furniture for the screen porch at our beach house and the cushions for the two loveseats will be a screaming green very similar to yours (maybe mine is a bit more yellow). The coordinating chair will have cushions in a striped fabric that has the same green and a darker green, with both a taupey gray and a more charcoal gray. The faux wicker we are getting is sort of a taupey gray. Or maybe more charcoal. We ordered it 2+ months ago -- we were told it would take a month to deliver and we are still waiting! grr. Supposedly it's coming in next week. Anyway, my point is that I like the gray with the green. I just got a bright green pouf from Home Decorators, I think it's 24" round? Seems to be good quality. I'll be using it as an ottoman with the chair. You can order fabric samples from them, which I did before ordering. For throws on our screen porches, I just buy those cheap cotton quilted throws from Home Goods or TJ Maxx and toss them in the wash once in a while. They seem to hold up fine, but our porches are covered/screened. I have also gotten outdoor pillows from Home Goods. West Elm had some great ones last year but I didn't care for their selection this year. I'm still trying to find a couple that will work with my green/gray cushions but haven't found anything yet...

Aluminum can't rust since it is not a ferric compound but it can oxidize. If it is actually rusted then it is a steel glider like the one I just "found" on the curb. If it is oxidized then it can be cleaned off. If it is rust then it has to be sandblasted and immediately primed to prevent more rust...it will start rusting again in minutes. I sent mine off to a guy that does the whole process for 150.00. Since I paid 50.00 for it to the man that was throwing it away I still have a bargain. Look at the ones on the site below and see what you have. Please post a pic...they are really great.Look at the prices !! I have used the elbow grease/sander/stripper method on my purple set and believe me if I had known about this guy I would have used him before...it is a lot of work.
