If you are in a multi-family dwelling in NYC propane tanks are illegal, period. No exceptions. Single unit homes can have small tanks (20lbs or under). I know a curbside vendor using gas needs to complete a training course in order to connecting the hoses, but that may not apply for use in a single family home. It's a whole lot easier & safer to use charcoal with a chimney starter! --benedita

Frank : I assumed from your 1st post "cannot find any crankcase leaks" that you had carried out a leakdown test of the bottom end . This is most easily carried out by removing the cylinder and blanking off the cyl. with a gasket and crankcase sealing plate. You can then pressurize the crankcase and check seals and gasket sealability . Loger: As you most likely know crankcase pressure and vacuum are used to operate the fuel carburation (diaphram) to supply fuel once the engine is primed ( and or) purged with the primer and choke assembly. A bad seal or crankcase gasket will not allow fuel to be properly drawn into the carburator . Also it can directly effect base compression . Usually erratically high idle will indicate the beginning of this sealibility problem .

Hi Dale, I've missed everybody! I had a great summer! Very relaxing and had a lot of fun! I hurt my hand in the beginning of summer and now have to see an orthopedic doctor. I've just been very busy dealing with a lot of serious issues on the homefront like family with terminal cancer, somebody with aids, and somebody very close to me suffering from ptsd. If there is any advice you are Rusty could give me regarding helping somebody with ptsd drop me a line, please! I just figured with military and war experience you guys might know a thing or two! Well, let's see. I didn't see any of those plastic propane tanks but I did see many bald eagles, moose, and of course my favorite, the loons! I felt like I was living in luxury in my new to us camper with heat, hot water, and slide out! I don't think I can ever go back except that I still love remote wilderness tent camping the best! I missed my girl this summer as I'm sure you missed yours! However, the new dog worked out really terrific! He came to work with me, loved boating, and turned out to be an excellent swimmer! He's a big dog, flat coat retriever, but he managed to go kayaking with me without flipping us over! I just kept my fingers crossed we wouldn't see any ducks near us!

Super cute Pig bowl Sandi. You gals have some great suggestions in this post. May I suggest you can use the faux greenery and the floating candles at the same time as the bowl opening sounds big enough to do it. In the center of the bowl, place a tall clear glass cylinder vase (find them cheap in the Crafts section at Walmart). It's about four inches round in diameter. In the bottom of the vase, (some ideas...) carefully place some seashells, clear glass (colored) marbles, clear red hearts or stars (also in Crafts section at Walmart). Fill it about three inches up from with whatever you're using. Then slowly pour water into the cylinder vase to about three-fourths full. Tie raffia or skinny ribbon around the vase about in the area of the water line (I say raffia or skinny ribbon so you don't hide the look with a big bow.) You can then hot glue a seashell or one of the marbles/stars/heart to the center of the knot of whatever you decide to use in the bottom of the vase. Add your floating candle and light it. The candle light reflects down into the water and illuminates whatever you have in the bottom of the vase. That's why I say use "clear colored marbles/stars/hearts" as opposed to "solid color" ones - the light from the candle will shine through the marbles and "light them up all the way through." It's real pretty at night time especially. Then, place some ivy or whatever kind of faux greenery you want to use, around that clear glass vase and let it flow over the sides of the pig vase. Not too much greenery though as you don't want to hide what's in the bottom of the vase. If you think the tall glass cyclinder is too tall, you can get the same effect using an "ivy glass bowl." If you don't like this idea at all just scrape it and say Sal's a nut case - LOL. Sal
