writersblock and polly so glad you also feel the above bedding but with plain white curtains would be best. That's what I've been thinking also. The white tulle sounds lovely or maybe eyelet, or maybe dotted swiss. kms we considered the Target bedding . . . it would sure save me a few bucks. But DD just doesn't like it. She really knows what she likes! It's really interesting . . . I never had such opinions at her age. She really is an "old soul" and actually does her fair share of mothering me at times. polly we just adore beds with curved footboards!! We never even knew about them until we found the website I mentioned before (foreverpinkcottagechic.com) We actually wanted a twin bed but couldn't find one with that look . . . so we decided to get the full bed. Today we also decided we're going to get a crystal chandy to complete the look! It should be stunning since it is a south facing room and the rainbows will be incredible. We never had a ceiling fixture in that room so we'll have to run wires. I'm just not sure where to hang it. If we do it centered in the room close to the ceiling then the sun may not hit it. If we hang it too low it may bonk heads? I wonder if we should plan on hanging it over the vanity area on the window side of the room? Or if that really limits furniture placement then?

Your welcome Judy. I have 2 tiny ballet dancers, 4 & 6, part of the reason I bought the tulle. I had such a problem finding WT's for that room. The windows in the room are caddy cornered, and part of the problem is one of the window's is boarded up from the outside. Our home is a work in progress. It has been a slow renovation/restoration, 3 years in the making. We found the windows in their room behind knotty pine paneling. Their bedroom is not finished, I still intend on hanging their tutu's on the wall. The tulle was meant to be temporary, but I really like how it turned out, and since we have so many other projects going on in the house, they will probably stay indefinitely. I will post pics tomorrow. I don't have any close-ups and the girlies are asleep in there right now. BTW, I am delighted to see your DD's bedroom and the similarities in my girls' bedroom. Perhaps this may mean they will still like it when they are 15? I could only hope ;-)

You guys have been a great help. Why is it that sometimes your brain literally freezes. Not in fear or anything. Just suddenly you can't think. Of anything except maybe your name. I know she rented a machine (forget if she said popcorn or cotton candy). I love the Cotton Candy Martini! I pitched the Vintage Circus (so much easier to work w/!) and I think that's perfect. Easy food for us to make (hot dogs, burgers etc....) and set it all out on my ironstone collections. They carry pretty paper table cloths now at Party City so a bit of subtle mix and match there. It'll be on the patio so I'm thinking string twinkle lights back and forth overhead. Cupcakes w/ animal crackers standing on top? Thanks for the kick in the pants! Your ideas have me rolling along again!

To tell you the honest truth, the two colors look alike on my screen and I don't like either one. Both are too mauve-y for me. (Caveat - I don't like mauve; I've never liked mauve; I avoided mauve the last time it came around. So, my opinion may not be a good one for you.) What about a nice cream? Several houses ago, I painted my bedroom Pratt and Lambert Antique White. Then I had the ceiling painted the palest tint of blue. I loved that room. My best resource for choosing colors is the guy at the paint store and when I lived in another town, there was a woman at a paint store there who was super. I take a fabric swatch, describe what I want, and he figures out which color will get me there*. He helped me pick out colors for our 2nd home when we were 500 miles apart and I was pleased with those colors until the day I moved.
