Windows in Master Bedroom-What Would You Do?
Comments (5)Long wall with three closely spaced windows on a that wall? In the US, north facing walls get no direct sunlight. That means any light coming in that side will basically be reflected light. Locating windows as you plan will make the room ends dark and dismal. Example: Our house has the longest living space wall on the north side of the house. There are three rooms on that side. A bedroom with two west facing windows and a north facing window. The center office with one north facing window. And the living room with two north facing windows about 6" apart and basically centered on the wall and four east facing windows side by side. At any time of the day, the darkest room---no inside light shades/curtains open---is the office. To work there requires a light. No lights are necessary in either of the other rooms until dark. But, the reason is the east and west facing windows. The north facing windows are noticeably darker....See MoreDo you prefer a light or dark master bedroom (sunshine)?
Comments (36)Not a morning person, but I married a farmer 25 years ago so I've reconciled myself to my fate. I can sleep anywhere and love bright sunny rooms, especially because the farm is in Canada six hours (by car) north of the US border where winter weather means short days and no leaves/grass from October to late May; the sun shines often, but in the winter with snow, the sky can be white/grey, the grass is brown, and the trees are grey/brown. My husband and I have also found, as we get older and need reading glasses, that lots of windows and light are helpful to see well. No nearby neighbors and no streetlights (or other light pollution) to worry about here. Current bedroom faces south (it has a bay window with lots of houseplants), and in the new house which will be finished soon, lots of windows facing north and east....See Morewould you paint master bath lighter or darker than master bedroom?
Comments (2)I think it depends on how much light is in the bathroom. My bedroom is not very light so I went with a light green. After several years I decided to paint the adjoining bathroom but went with a darker shade of green. There is a skylight in the bathroom as well as a window so it is very light. I love the difference. I also painted a hall bathroom with a darker color. There are no windows, but do have excellent lights and it looks wonderful. Good luck on what ever you choose....See Moreis pink color OK for the master bedroom pink color for master bedroom
Comments (25)Yes, I think pink is a beautiful color for a master bedroom! The trick is picking the right pink and then balancing it with other elements that are not overly feminine. I love pink and brown together, or black. When choosing a grownup ink go to the brown section in your color deck. As you move up to the lighter colors you will see what I refer to as dirty pinks. These are softer, more pleasing pinks that men can love....See Morescottmel
