I hung curtains in my LR tonight for the first time in 5 years, it's so wierd to think we have been in an unfinished room for soooooo long and I have worked on it since Dec. and now it's like ... wow... it feels like a room. lol

I'm thinking of using a jigsaw. Or maybe just use the table saw. I've gotten pretty confident with it over the past several months! I understand about the living room curtains. We have been in this house over 4 years. There's a twin sheet hanging over one window, a miniblind on one, and a valance on one, in the LR where I am sitting. It will be nice to be in a place that is "just like we want it", within the confines of all our handmedown furniture anyway!

You know what I have done.........
for window coverings....I looked at the Jc Penney catalog,
They are way too expensive!.
I actually spent $250 for a purple window treatment for my shower curtain!!!....Just beacause I couldn't find that color!.......so What I did......
was order one of the pieces of their valances, and disected
it!...........I spent under $100, on fabric for 6 windows, with their $24 starter piece! Saved myself $600.00!!
I don't use my sewing machine for much........but I will duplicate spendy winow treatments!

WOW! I love the before and after, what a nice job you did! It must be so much fun to fix that place up! Using your imagination and creativity to do whatever you want...what fun!

Truly an artful project. What a journey you're taking! I so love this treatment of a primitive little structure, turned into art. The scroll cutout is so clever. And WHO wouldn't love that wall color. Take a deep bow, then get up quickly and get on w/it to show us more. Doncha just love this kind of renovations? Been there, done that and it's really satisfying.

Great idea, HAZIE! I've picked up several valances at TS to go in the barnhouse. Don't have any up yet.

As for the RED, it's another recycled material! I was going to the paint store to get a nice boring neutral that would go with the beadboard and bright white in there. (The opposite wall is same material, same color as the tub surround, with about two feet of horizontal beadboard at the top.) Anyway, I went by my sister's on the way to the paint store, and mentioned the paint. She said, go look at my bedroom wall. Long story short, she had some leftover, and now it's in my bathroom. Great color, way more interesting, and FREE! Gotta love it!

I cant wait to see the pvc pipe solution for the plumbing, I have an idea in my head what it will look like and it sounds fabulous! I love the whole thing!

Just got off the phone with my mom, from whom the big pipe is actually coming, by way of my brother. She scrounged it from some construction site somewhere...I come by my scrounging nature genetically (Daddy also, double whammy!) :D She doesn't think she has the size I really want, but has some that might work, so we'll see!

Yes, I love that PVC idea too. It's looking just fabulous!! You've done so much work in there!!

I hope you will take bright's suggestion and show us the whole renovation!!
