This is very interesting. I suspect he tried to sell his formula to some big company but was not successful. (Imagine computers or tv sets that looked like fairy houses on the outside, lol.) Sure would be useful to us crafters, if its not too toxic. If it looks good, maybe we could order ingreadients regionally and split the cost (EG if any one else in NH VT or MA wanted them I could be in such a group.) I guess I don't object to paying for the formula through his dvd's. When you invent something and spend a lot of time, naturally you want to get paid. Right now I have too many other projects and winter is coming, but maybe in the spring... Kathy

Thanks Susie :D This cheers me up,too! Hey Kirk, that's what the tree looked like when I was growing up. We planted hundreds and hundreds with our mother it seemed like, even staying out in the woods til well past dark with all sorts of wild animals jumping around at us out there,(back then it was moonshiners you ran into on your property, now it's meth labs) and it was scary when you're only about 6 or 7 years old! I never inherited my mother's ability or want, to wander alone in the woods til wee hours of the morning. After I was married and lived here, we still cut down our own trees, until trespassers stole all of them(to sell, I guess)one year. Some grew back up from the trunks, but we didn't feel like fooling with them any more after that. The smell is great, there's no comparison to a live tree, but we broke down and got an ARTIFICIAL pre-lit one :D lol Too many allergies, they dried out quickly, too. Boy could I tell you some FUNNNNY stories us and the kids endured with live trees ( one year involving a crazy Himalayan cat we had :D ) I can't wait til next Christmas!oh and I see Carol's tree skirt! It's just perfect. Cherry/Kudzu

I received my box from Drippy once I returned home from being out of town for over a week....It was received but I wasn't here to open it...... What a LOVELY box it is! It included: A bag of Lilium bulbs (so many and I have the perfect spot for them) A bag of Caladium bulbs (going in my red bed) A bag of Park Princess Dahlia's (will go in my flower bed dedicated to my mother and brother) A bag of Freesia hybrid bulbs (going in a new bed that has small hosta's) A bag of Tricyrtis (Toad Lilies)(also in red bed) Ipomopsis seeds and Convolvulus seeds, a hummingbird feeder and a BIG fairy solar powered globe that lights up at night! DH was impressed with the entire box! I think he enjoys them as much as I do. WOW! AWESOME BOX!!!!! It will all get planted very soon, once I recover from the trip. Thank you soooo much Drippy, you know how to pack a box girl! I appreciate it all and LOVE IT! I'm still waiting on something I ordered that has been back ordered so don't give up on me just yet...thanks for your patience and for being so generous! Jaye

It would be a good idea to look up fairy garden images to see plenty of different examples. You can find lots of wonderful miniature accessories in lots of themes. I think that you'll see that less stuff is best! I've seen wonderful little 'gardens' in antique serving bowls, candy dishes, one of those wooden bowls used to serve nuts, etc. I've got several simple, pottery bonsai containers, glazed and not, that would be perfect. You can find bonsai containers in all sizes and shapes on line for very little money. Most of the fairy gardens I've seen are for indoor display....not for the direct upen sun, wind, and rain. But you still have to select plants, living breathing things, that will do well in the amount of light you can provide. There are soooo many plants that can be kept small with an occasional snip here and there with a pair of scissors. A good garden center is the best place to find an assortment of miniature plants. Try to remember to match plants with the amount of available light. Moss isn't required though it sure looks great. Moss is difficult to grow inside. But you can find sheet moss or dried moss that totally looks alive. Don't forget that natural elements are what make these little displays so charming. Twigs, bark, pebbles, shells, aquarium gravel, sand, interesting seed heads, and tons of other things are the magic in a fairy garden.
