gifts from two new mosaic friends

When Jane and I went on our trip we were so lucky to meet Slow and Rose. It felt like we'd known each other for ages. We had such a lot of laughs and fun. Those two were so sweet they brought Jane and I each a gift. Rose made me a wonderful picture frame with tiles she had made herself using polymer clay, and crash glass. Slow used to do quilting and gave me a wonderful apron with the most beautiful quilted pocket on it. There are little beads on it and it's like a cloth mosaic. Here's a pic of the treasures my new friends were so kind to give me. I felt truly blessed by those two lil heifers, hehe.

Wonderful!! You all are soo lucky/blessed to have had such a wonderful time with each other. Wouldn't it be great if we could have one great big family reunion with all of us there!!! Slow and Rose that was soo sweat to bring them gifts!!! ((((hugs)))))

What a gorgeous ornament, and an incredible gift. It almost made me cry too! I like that you have it in the doggy den to watch over Marley. It is so special and now you can see it every day and not just at Christmas. Your doggy den turned out really nice. Tho doesn't Toeby consider it a "cat house"? LOL. I am so glad you plan to get Marley a friend, he will really love that. Goldens are such dear, sweet dogs. (my son, Jason, has one that is almost 10 yrs old.) Glad all of you enjoyed seeing it too. It's such a neat addition to my cherub collection, Karen really does know my tastes so well and is so thoughtful and generous. I think it will take up residence in my bedroom for awhile, it's too pretty to pack away for a year! Thanks for the compliments on the tablescape--I enjoy doing it, but still am not truly confident about it--just try things until I think it looks good. OA, by all means feel free to use any ideas you like. I saw your pretty Valentine's table this morning and wondered why I didn't remember to use my rose petals on mine like you did on yours! LOL Lynn, the tablecloth was another "treasure shopping" find several years ago--less than $5 and it is pretty heavy and really larger than I need for this table, but I love the way it looks hanging down longer over the sides--sort of more romantic I think. LOL Thanks for the compliments on the painted placemats. That was just a "spur of the moment" idea that came to me for something to paint on while we were on a motorhome trip. I liked how they came out and really meant to find more to paint other things on--but haven't done so yet. I'm the world's worst procrastinator! LOL Happy Valentine's Day everyone. Luvs

Labmomma, I live in an unincorporated area of Los Angeles county and am limited to 3 pets (dogs & cats) total- and all have to be registered with the county. I personally think it's unreasonable, but that's the law. The city next to ours limits people to 2 total- even more ridiculous. Animal control agents go door to door looking for unregistered animals. We see an agent about once every two years. They don't search your house or yard or anything, just come to the door and ask. They also ask about your neighbors, so undoubtedly ask neighbors about you. Some people manage to keep their pets (cats in particular) hidden away or deny existence of them, but I find that sort of thing too stressful. I've talked to a lot of vet techs who seem to have "excess" animals and live in rural areas- and get the impression that the animal control agents turn a blind eye so long as the animals all appear to be well cared for and not infringing on the neighbors. At any rate, OP I feel badly for your situation as I've seen a few people in my area who have been forced to give up pets for having too many of them. Particularly people who have moved here without realizing that they have "too many" pets. It just doesn't seem fair, especially if you can afford to take care of them and they are not bothering anyone. I don't know what the answer is, but agree that Grace owes her dogs the kindness of at least finding them new homes- which you are trying to do. I hope she will not move in with your dad until she has taken care of the best interest of her dogs. GL

How thoughtful! It must have been so exciting to meet each other. I'd love to see some of your quilts slowmedown, the design on the apron has always been a favorite, like an antique quilt. Such lovely gifts!

Well, I'd like to repost my pics too from these THREE Wonderful Ladies!!! Rosie and Slow also made the dearest Gift Cards too! That will be going on my memory "Thing"(don't know yet what it will look like) from this awesome adventure! Klinger/Cindy was The BEST tour guide/ travelling buddy anyone could ever ask for! She made my first trip anywhere just sooo perfect!!! No worries! Just pure fun! And getting to meet Rosie and Slow there was just the icing and cherry on top of an already yummy cake!!! Cindy made me a wall sconce to bring home since I was giving my hand away.
