I use box cutters on my containers too. They are a lot quicker to use and safer than the kitchen knives. More handle and less blade. I nearly took out my thumb when I was making drainage slits with the pairing knife. It slipped off the bottom of the container and right into my hand. That is when I made the switch! I have been thinking about how to store my milk jugs for next year and think that I will string them up by the handles on a wire. We have long tool boards in the garage and I can loop the wire on the hooks up at the top of the boards and then run the wire from one end of the boards to the other. The wall is 24' long. I may need to do a couple rows like this for all the jugs.

oh, me,either! someone used to give us cigar boxes to play with when we were little, but I'm not sure who. In fact, it might have just been some my father picked up at the drug store lunch counter he ate at almost every day! Because he only smoked cigars when one of his buddies became a Dad and handed them out. And my Grandfather smoked a pipe( that's how we got plenty of Prince Albert cans to play with!)I usually kept dolls and doll clothes in one cigar box, and pencils and crayons and paper in another. We used to really act our age back then didn't we? lol I had to have been 13 or 14 and still playing with dolls,but looked like I was 21 or older :D My husband says that the tobacco store guy has wooden cigar boxes that the good stuff comes in, for $5 each. He says they look really nice and come in different woods and shapes and I should go pick some out.

Hostagrams, is there anyway you can find another tri can spinner for your new home? I think I'd be tempted to take the old one with me. If you're home hasn't been sold yet take it out before you show it again and it's legally yours unless already stipulated in the sales contract. Thanks for the link too! We have bins just out side the door to the garage, but we were lucky and found a drawer type unit that works great. Never thought of adding shelves right out side the door for purchased bins. At the time we bought ours we were having trouble finding anything aimed at recycling. I'm guessing it's easier now. We found the bin storage at Home Depot for only $19.99 about five years ago. go_figure, thank you! Yesterday was Family Dinner Sunday, and I'm happy to report that the kitchen center worked as expected. We rolled it into the LR to set up tables for dinner, then rolled it back to the play room, later. It was a hit, not only with my grandson, but also with my 8yr old niece and nephew. I offered to make one for them if my brother can find another old entertainment center. He declined, lol. EATREALFOOD, thank you! Today my grandson played 'restaurant'--the menu was: 2 frozen pies, spaghetti and meatballs, and a sandwich. My FIL is in his 80s, retired USAF, a very traditional gentleman. When he stopped by one day, I was excited to show him the almost finished project. I said, "Look at the kitchen center I'm making for K's birthday!" His response was, "Hmmmmmm." I couldn't understand why he wasn't more impressed until I said, "And look on the other side--it's a workshop." Then he was impressed ;).
