Yeah, have seen that and thought it was really neat. You have the talent, you have the scraps, and you definitely have the foiling skill, especially after that peacock. Get to it - what's keeping you? Oh, forgot - you have some grouting to do.

Are these scraps of colored glass? I saw a fountain quite awhile back on here that I would kill for. I need to look in my files for the picture I saved. Great...I can't find my picture. It was the most awesome thing I've seen. It was one of those bubblers where the water disappears into the stones below. There were chucks and pieces of brightly colored glass all around the area. I saved the picture hoping my son in-law, who works for Libbey glass, could get me some scrap glass pieces to do it with. Still working on it...but now I can't figure out what CD I put the picture on. Does anyone else remember it? ~Sandy~

I dropped a bottle a little hard over a piece of rebar and had broken glass all over. I use a dab of adhesive putty now on the end of the rebar before I put a bottle on it. (The same stuff you use to stick pictures, etc to the wall or woodwork--you get it in just about any store in the stationery dept). It works fine, and lasts a long time since the bottle protects it and it never gets wet. Modeling clay or something like it would work too. Sandy

I sold 2 birdbaths today, $49 & $52. I sold a totem (glass ball on a pole) for $15 and a pagoda for $24. I think it depends on the area. There's a tourist town on one of the islands near us where I've heard the birdbaths are selling for $185. Now the bad news. A few minutes after I sold the one for $52 the buyer brought it back to me. The bowl had fallen off and chipped. I tried to refund her money, but she didn't want the money. She wanted me to repair the birdbath. I have no idea why some joints bond and a few don't when I've used glue out of the same tube. I had pulled on the pieces before taking it to the sale to make sure it had a strong bond. When it came apart there was no sign of glue on the part holding the bowl. It was all on the bowl. A few minutes later a man came by who also makes this type of garden art. He said the GE silicone for D & W is the only kind to use. His theory about the mishap was, 1. the glass that had no glue on it has such a slick surface. He suggested roughing it up a bit. 2. the person who bought it carried it out sideways over his arm. He thought the bowl was so heavy when it was carried in that manner that it put too much stress on the joint. I have told people that if the item comes apart within 6 months with normal handling they should contact me. I'll repair it or otherwise make amends if I feel it is warranted.

Sheesh, I forgot to resize the pics. Sorry they're so huge, lol. Rosemarythyme - C'mon over, I'll show ya all the good spots. I'm about an hour north of Toronto in Barrie, ON. The tiles are definitely vintage, it'll be fun to use them in a project. DH and I were talking about the pedestal when we got it and that is EXACTLY what we thought of using it for. Gonna have to see if our umbrella fits. Shrty, lilym, chickee, chris2u - Thanks, I love hunting for new treasures and sharing pics with you guys. I hope no one is getting sick of the pics, because I really like getting everybody's feedback and project ideas. Annie - You can come shopping with me and Rosie and then we'll go back to your place to sell it, lol. I am feeling a little guilty about the yellow rose china, it's not even chipped or very worn. Might have to do a little research before I smash 'em up. Kate and Slow - Thanks, I spent a couple of hours last night sorting the glass pieces by colour. I'm only part way through the first box, lol. It'll be worth it instead of searching through it when I'm in the middle of a project. Plant stand is definitely an option for the pedestal. Hmmm....gonna have to think about what to do with it. Cindy

I missed the peacock. I searched it but anything I came up with the pics were gone, (crying)

That is way too cool.......and way too deadly for me to have around me!!! I would probably fall into it and puncture my liver, lungs and heart, along with both eyes!!! It's beautiful.......would consider using my stained glass scraps on a solid piece just gluing them down and then grouting........

That is awesome !!! Now THAT is right up my alley ! I wonder how strong it is. I'm going to have to save the pic and enlarge it so I can "disassemble it" in my mind ...

couple of hours? Please tell me your kidding, or you've been doing this for YEARS. Thanks for the link and it is stunning. I was out to the shop as soon as I saw this colage of glass, now that is something I think of as a couple of hours, LOL.

Nana, just kidding, that peacock was the Bane of my existence!!! I sat around looking at him 1/2 done for 3yrs!!! I moved once and DH picked him up by the paper and he slid...all 350pcs...into a pile in the middle of the pattern!!! So he also has been a jigsaw puzzle!lol! But now he is a 730pc(who counting!) charmer, hanging in my livingroom window! I've been checking out the Garden Junk side too and am about to go find some copper I've got stashed in my shed to see what I can create!
