Where are all of the painting people?!

Helllloooooo.......

I haven't been here in ages, and I don't have a question about anything at all, just wanted to pop in and say hi.

Remember ages ago when I was saying that I was going to makeover my craft room? Real life and other priorities kept getting in the way, and that room just turned into a disaster area. Well, it's almost done, and you ladies have been on my mind!

I'm at the point of refinishing/making some furniture, then the last step will be hanging things on the wall, including some neat old paint-by-numbers.

I think of all of you when I start to see all of the holiday craft supplies rolling out. I hope everyone is doing well and having fun.

Hi! A few of us drop by every now and then, but it's not active like it used to be. I miss it too! I've put a few things in the gallery recently. I'm painting for a boutique that is coming up in Oct so I may have some new things to post soon. I hope you'll upload any pics here so we can see what you've been doing. I'm sure it looks great! ~Anj

I always visit this forum but nobody posts. I've been water marbling jewelry. Fun, and I'm hoping to be in some craft shows near Christmastime.

Thanks for the info Steve, but isn't there a commercial banana fertilizer out there that one could use? I bought this Dwarf last May and never thought to fertilize it as It was repotted when I took it home and it was putting out a leaf every week during the summer. Plus at the very end of summer when temps start to drop, Mommy had seven pups. I saved two that remain with her in my laundry room. Someone last year suggested cutting the stalk down to the corm and I cut the pups back also. He said to use the cut up leaves as insulation for the corm. But they had a tendency to slide off and expose the corm or the pups. So I went out and bought a burlap bag and draped it over the Mom and pups and would put a towel over the burlap just for the colder nights. It has worked so far. I really haven't watered the plant as it seems just moist but not overly wet. I will on a warm day, take the burlap and air it out as it gets moist. The plant seems sturdy and fine and pups are doing well. I can't wait to put it out next month.

Thank you for the welcome, PrinceAlbert! I'm so glad to hear that Lucy is doing well and got to spend alot of time with her grandkids. I was thinking they lived in Florida but there's not much to say for my memory! LOL Would love to post some pics but I no longer have a working camera. This year I did not do much with my gardens as I have had so much on my plate. We are still in renovation mode around here and I have not been able yet to landscape. For now I have just been trying to keep everything going nicely in pots. I did take one of Kasha's pretty Frosty Pinks and stuck it in the ground. I was amazed at how fast it grew in ground but it also stalled flower productive as it set down root and went leaf crazy! LOL kasha - doesn't it always feel good when you know you've given others so much enjoyment? Big hugs to you, Lady! :)

The antibacterial agent used in all of the wipes I've seen is alcohol. Rubbing alcohol and a paper towel would do the same thing, if not better, for a lot less money. Basically any of the "pre-moistened wipes" are a ripoff, whether it's the germ killing ones or the ones that are moistened with window cleaner or other cleaning products. You are paying a big premium for a very small amount of actual cleaner. Plus if you don't use them fast enough, they all dry out and are worthless. I do like the alcohol-based hand sanitizers though. A lot of public restrooms do not have soap, so it can be very handy to have the santizer in your vehicle. I have read studies that say that they do reduce colds and other infections. In one case, putting a couple of wall-mounted hand sanitizer dispensers in school classrooms and encouraging students and teachers to use them cut colds by around 30 percent. However, as you said, they did say in the study that actual hand-washing was better, due to the rinsing effect where the germs fall off. You don't get that effect with the sanitizers, but they're significantly better than nothing.

Hi Anj...It has been awhile! I no longer paint, now I make greeting cards and really love it. Still haven't given everything away, there are a few things I would still like to do...but. . . maybe some day the bug will bit.

Hey Claudia. I sure miss your painting, ! Glad you found something to capture your interest that you can find time for. I am babysitting again so finding it hard to squeeze in any painting time for myself. I don't think I ever got the pics put up. I'll try to get them on there today. Oh my goodness ladies! So wonderful to see some of you still
On here posting. We had so much fun here for years and we've
all went through changes and been so busy.

Now I know why I couldn't sleep and jumped on my iPad this
Morning. We need to get this form moving again!

Punk! Hello! I would love to see more people painting in 2015! Big things, small things, anything! ha Glad to see you are still checking in. Do you think you will find time to paint again? I would love it! You used to whip projects out so fast!
