I so wish that I coud go get me some of that!!! But I'm in NC so that can't happen. You're a lucky girl!!!

I would NOT suggest trimming any roots this time of year! This time of year in north wet states, the irises are just coming out of dormancy with a little green growth starting. I definitely would not shake off the dirt as it will destroy roots, and they need those roots for their spring growth and establish a viable plant. If youÂre like my daughter in Oregon, she just moved to a new house, and in this winter weather, had to dig her irises. I helped. We just dug big clumps, dirt and all, put in bags, and took to the new house. SheÂs placed them on the ground and built up more soil around the clumps. She says they seem to have taken the transplant well, and are showing some new green growth.

I just wanted to comment on how nice everything looks, very neat a well maintained lawn and beds. Your new Windmill looks very nice and your Washy does too. I have not had any luck with the Washies, I had two and both died and my sister that lives in California pulls up the seedling and mows them down, funny like they say one person trash is another ones treasure. The only negative comment I have is if your trees live and do well I think you will find you have planted them too close to your home. I have one Windmill that has been the ground for a few years and I planted it a little close to the side walk I wish I had planted it about three feet further back from the walk. Glad you got a free tree that is nice of a seller to give you a little surprise. I do have a little comment on your small Windmill. It looks like to me that you have a bottom on the pot you have if I am seeing it correctly. If it was me I would remove it. They do not like to be to wet, and the bottom will hold water. In the winter when I bring some of my palms in I place them on large clear plastic rings, that are a lot wider than the pot, when the pot drains they drain down in the large saucer and it evaporates fairly quickly which helps a little with bringing up the humidity around the palm. Keep up the good work. Enjoy, your plants.

Glad ya found your invoice Lilyfinch! That's a good thing that Hortico does.... charging less for a smaller plant. And believe me, most of the time they make up for it. Like I said, I got 2 tiny GINGER roses last yr, and right now they are big ol' things sittin' in the raised bed waiting for a spot. I think I will donate the second one tho. Don't need two of them. I'm very anxious to see that new rose ROYAL KATE. Not much about it anywhere, but I did see pics on the image tab of Google. Looks like a pretty pure lighter pink. Lilyfinch you will love CHANDOS BEAUTY. Mine got up to (almost) 6ft last yr. It goes from a pinky-white to a creamy apricot and even some yellow tones depending on the temps.
