8-inch or 12-inch DW handles?

We are having a cabinet overlay on our new dishwasher. We're choosing appliance handles right now, settling on a pair of 18-inch handles for our 42-inch built-in SxS refrigerator/freezer. Using a matching handle on a standard-width dishwasher (24-inches), should it be 8 inches or 12 inches? Thanks!

Where are you hanging your dishtowel? Does that make a difference in the size for the DW handle? Hold up a 8" vs 12" stick against the DW to see which you like better. Good Luck!

FWIW, we used the same type of knob as on the rest of our cabinets and it works fine. If we had used a handle, I would go 8"--that's big enough for 24" panel.

I recently replaced an 18" Frigidaire with a standard 24" and it's so much better. I put in the 18" 8 years ago when I bought the house and it was starting to rust and leak. When I went out to find a replacement, I discovered that Frigidaire had "re-designed" the 18" model and interior was now 20% smaller. The upper rack is ridiculous...maybe if you drink out of shot glasses, LOL. And all the brands (Frigidaire, GE, Whirlpool) were just re-branded versions of this machine. I didn't look at the expensive Euro brands as I didn't want to spend over $1K. So I did what I should have done 8 years ago, which is remove another cabinet and put in a 24" dishwasher. The advice to avoid 18" dishwashers you mention is your first post is spot on. From someone whose been there!

Tile people , where are you, Bill and Mongo ? The sub floor is 5/8 ply in fair to poor condition . I know I need another layer before the 1/4 cement board , but am not sure of the thickness? Thanks in advance for any help. Salbwil

Is a 12 inch pull for DW too much?

I was hoping you would get positive responses on this question. My kitchen will be installed in a few weeks and I've also debated whether or not to get an appliance pull for my integrated dw. Most of my pulls will be RH Aubrey, but I think I'm going to get the pull pictured below for my DW. It's 15" , but I wanted the projection and I would actually prefer that my DW be somewhat distinguishable from by other cabinets. Your kitchen is beautiful so far! Congrats!

is there a big difference between 1/2 inch or 5/8 flex connector ?

The installation guide should tell you. For example, here is a link to the installation guide for several Samsung 30" five burner range models: http://www.samsung.com/us/support/owners/product/FX710BGS/XAA# It specifies a 1/2" diameter gas connector (pages 23 and 27).

Thanks, both of you, for your responses.

ngng--I'll probably hang my dishtowels on hooks on either side of the window above the sink, so the DW handle won't be needed for that purpose.

heimert--I also felt the 8-inch was big enough. But I just wanted to check with the experts on this Forum.
