Hi. I am also in the process of shopping for cabinet pulls (euro style stainless steel pulls) Not sure if that's what you are looking for. I found some very reasonably priced ones on ebay 12" solid stainless steel for $4.00 each (seller: contempo_living) There are even cheaper sellers than that but apparently, even tho' they advertised as solid stainless steel, they are actually made out of metal material (do the magnet test) I did order a sample from a seller who advertised stainless steel but when I put a magnet to it, it was obviously not stainless steel. I have not ordered a sample pull at contempo_living, but according to their website, they claimed they are solid stainless steel. Ask for a discount too (they offerd a 10% discount on mine) If you find another seller on ebay, make sure you ask them if they are real solid stainless steel before you buy! Good Luck!

Hi Claire: Have you seen in recent magazines where the curtain is going to be stationary on a window and the rod is a "half rod"? For example, if a window is 40" across, you would have the rod regularly mounted to one side with a finial at the outside end. Going towards the middle of the window, the rod would end on a bracket but without a finial and would go only 20" inward. Does that make sense? And would that be something that would work for you? I'm going to research some of my magazines and see if I can find what I am referring to. The look is beautiful, and works especially well if you are never going to draw the panels.

This is for my bedroom. My plan is to hang simple stationary panels on the sides of my windows to soften the view. The rods will not extend across the windows, they will only be as wide as each panel, about 25 inches or so, with a finial at the end (the other end butts the wall). So each window gets two brackets, a pole, and a final. I found inexpensive - but surprisingly nice - 54" wide, lined faux silk drapery panels at Walmart for less than $20 per panel. They have back tabs, so I will slide them on the pole and then set the pole in the brackets. Follow-up on Olde Good Things: They recently moved most of their hardware back to the Scranton warehouse due to rent costs in NYC, so that's why their selection in-city was small. I spent about five hours in the warehouse on a hot day, hoping to find 80+ bin pulls and cabinet handles and knobs. Unfortunately, they haven't sorted all of the hardware, and I didn't find much in cast iron--maybe 20 assorted bin pulls in all (not counting the "doggie" cast pulls) and various other handles, none matched. They had lots of brass, which I'm not using. I bought some things and will match them by searching other websites (Robinson's, thanks to trailrunner). I didn't mind the hot dusty search and road trip because I got some ideas. The OGT folks are very nice and sold the items cheaper than at the city stores, fair enough as I searched for them. Btw, they are religious and use their profits to support their work in Haiti. I'm not religious and I don't really know where the money goes, but they seem nice and weren't pushy at all.
