Do you like your cellular blinds?
Comments (16)We have cell shades on all of our windows. I ordered some from JCPenney's (Bali) and some no-name brand from an online site. I wouldn't recommend the latter. They just are not the same quality and DH and I curse them every time we lower them (they don't have the weight that the Bali do and need help lowering all the way). We have blackout shades in the master. We debated about that one but are extremely happy with them. All the rest of the shades are light filtering. June is our moth season but, after two years of living w/our cell shades, I haven't noticed stains from the moths. Our shades are only down at night so aesthetics isn't really an issue for us. If we needed light control during the day, I'd probably have gone w/some type of blinds. We have no doubt the cell shades help w/insulation given our heating bills with and w/out the shades....See MoreSliding door with blinds between the glass
Comments (29)I know this is an old post, but based on what i am seeing with a blinds between glass door, I don't think it is a great idea. Perhaps with a higher quality product, the mechanism would work better, but here is what I have going on right now with a Jeld-wen door from Home Depot: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RDkmRtB-f5c I think what happens is the air between the panes heats and cools and the clearance is more or less depending on temperature. Sometimes the blinds work, other times they stick. The overall impression is not one of quality and I plan to return the door and replace with a regular door. The door worked fine in the store. But at home, it is exposed to big temperature variations, so I think this problem will happen no matter what. Also, there is already dust on the blinds. I think the blinds between glass idea is a clever gimmick, but not worth the hassle. Here is a link that might be useful: video of stuck blinds...See MoreIn glass blind/shade options

Comments (32)I have 4 very large 48 X 95 inch cellular blinds from Blinds to Go. I did not get top down. Mine are white but appear slightly gray because they are black out blinds and lined inside the cells with silver. I have Hunter Douglas in my other rooms. The difference I have found is in the strings. The Blinds to Go use white strings for the pulls and they get dirty, Hunter Douglas uses ball chain and is a continuous loop. The Blinds to Go have had to be repaired. The blinds got shorter and shorter over time and uneven. It seems the strings inside were catching or shrinking. I must say that the company repaired them and quickly, but I had climb up 12 feet to take them down and put them up again several days later and in the mean time I had no window covering in my bedroom. For me the price difference was worth buying Hunter Douglas. I purchased them through Home Depot. Also the Blinds to Go installer was horrible and they had to send me someone else to fix the initial install twice. Also the first batch of delivered shades were incorrectly measured. The Home Depot installer was very professional and timely....See Morerockmanor
