Wow! May, June and now July!

Cannot believe how fast the time is flying by! Hope you are all well and happy! Just wanted to stop by to see what everyone is up to. I guess I'm just gonna have to get off my tookis and paint something to get us going again! ha Sad that we've all gotten so busy and no painting to inspire others to try it. Miss you all! ~Anj

Had to laugh at the title to this post, Anj. Remember when we used to try to do WEEKLY updates???? Now we're at quarterly ones! Yikes!!

Didn't realize you were babysitting full time now. That can be time consuming for sure.

Your daughter is 8 now right? My little GD turned 8 in May. So busy and full of ideas. So many of the things she comes up with just crack me up! Those little minds are so precious.

I think I had mentioned that I'd been sorting, cleaning, and organizing. I have the nicest setup for my saws along with a good sized workbench all set up in our garage now. All the tools are right there handy and even a place to store my wood supply--now I just need to get something cut out and paint it! LOL Also redid hubby's old office space and now have it set up as a computer room and space for my Cricut crafts. Again, just need to get busy and make something! Don't know where my creative urges are hiding, but I do hope they resurface soon!

Speaking of Cricut, did you get your's out of the box and play with it? It will come in handy for posters for kids projects as well as making gift items for neighbors/friends for sure.

I keep wondering how Belle is doing? She hasn't posted in such a long time. Hope she's happily painting away and will bombard us with a ton of pictures soon--hey, I can wish can't I????? LOL

Gotta go, hope to see a response soon.

Yes, I'm babysitting every week day except Thurs. Thurs is my physical therapy appt and my day to get the shopping and errands run. My mom keeps the baby that day.

I've figured out what my problem is...pinterest! HA I get so many ideas and then I can't seem to get any of them done! It's easy to sit and pin the ideas much like looking thru painting or craft mags, but to put pinterest down long enough to actually work on something...that's the trick!

I'm glad you are getting things the way you like them. Sounds like the perfect place to get crafty. Hope you can get some inspiration soon. I love your stuff. I have not used the cricut yet. ha I played with it a little, but just bought some vinyl to do a sign with. Haven't done it yet. That stuff is expensive, huh? My SIL asked if she could cut some things out with it for a mobile for my niece.

We are getting ready for our annual crawfish boil at the reservoir this weekend. Lots of people coming up. Should be fun. I overdid it a bit today getting ready for it. Lots to do tomorrow as well. We had a big yard party and invited lots of friends over 2 weekends ago. Of course I overdid it then too trying to get everything nice for that. The kids are going on Trek next week. They dress up like the Pioneers and walk the trail for 3 days from Wyoming back into SL. Always something going on at this house. My niece and nephew have been here all this week. No wonder I can't get anything done.

My little girl is not so little anymore. Big 8 she turned in May. She's always acted more like 20 from having to deal with older siblings. Hope you still get to spend time with S.

Well, it's going on 11 here and I have to get up at 6am to take the baby so I'd better get to bed. Just have to check on my painting buddies every now and then. Belle, Punk, Bebe and all the rest. Hope to hear from you all soon. Take care Luvs! ~Anj

If pot grown and shipped in the original container, it will stand a better chance of survival than if it's bare root or b&b. If it is pot grown and shipped in the original soil, try not to disturb the roots any more than necessary when you plant it. If it's rootbound, you may have to correct that situation. It will definitely need to be correctly watered until it gets established. Don't overwater, but don't let the soil dry out. Providing a little extra shade could also help. "...mist spray the branches a couple times a day" - very bad idea. Misting a plant (at least if exposed to direct sunlight) is a good way to cook the plant's leaves. Besides that, it wouldn't help much with water retention anyway. Skip the misting and worry about proper soil moisture.

Thank You, WONDER OF IT ALL has been a bloom machine for me. It has had 123 blooms this season,and deserves a rest period, even if I DO wish it would bloom year round.:))Its in a pot and fast filling this 14inch pot.I will probably need to find a bigger pot for it by this fall,as I intend to keep it in a pot with potting soil.Since it seems to love its home.It will just need a bigger home.:)I do have hundreds of pictures of it to look at this winter when we have nothing blooming. I have even saved a bunch of your pictures of your beauties, too, to look at during the winter. Jean

Its not about expensive gifts...in fact I dont like to buy anything, I enjoy making things or sharing things that I have in abundance that I think others can use. I would not want anyone to send me expensive gifts that would embarrass me. Plants, seeds, cuttings garden related things. When we start purchasing non garden related items and it comes from walmart or a dime store, I feel the spirit is compromised and I dont shop or buy from those places because I sont want to support the large box stores that are of no use in my life. I recently discovered that after harvesting garlic grown organicly that I was accused of sending OLD moldy garlic. NOt only was my heart broken, I sensed the spirit of gift giving was an expectation to shop at walmart and sent each other cheap plastic gifts which I have no use for in my home. I'd rather not support something that I dont believe in. This may insult many, I am sorry, but hand painted cards, cuttings, pillows made of pine needles...thats what Iam about, I may pass along antique memoriabilia that I have laying around the house in hopes that someone would get a smile going back to memory lane with it. I may even send something that was given to me but I have no use for it and I just felt it would be better suited as a gift to someone else. Please count me out when it comes to supporting items made by 3rd world countries and the people who made them were abused and not paid well. Most people dont care, but being responsible for what you purchase makes a difference in someones life other than you and me, I am trying to be responsible and not support products that come from companies that are unkind to the people who manufactor it. Ignoring that doesnt make it stop and it doesnt make it alright. I really enjoy round robins, I guess I should start a new one and call it Organic Round Robin or Handmade or from the earth Only. If I offended anyone, I apologize again, and thank you for allowing me to be in this round robin, but I believe that I am just not mainstream enough to participate. All the best- I am gonna go make some salsa with the 100 lbs of garlic and tomatoes and onions I just harvested from my organic gardens.

Hi! I am here, just in a funk and slowly coming out of it. DD moved last week to Lousiana and it hit home that I now officially have an empty nest. At least while she was at school, I knew she could come home any weekend she chose. Lousianna is just so FAR away. But they made it safely (in a U-Haul towing her car!) and I have kept in touch with her almost daily. So the comunication is there, but I miss her. I have been keeping busy reading, scrapbooking and cleaning out DD's empty room. It has been so HOT here, that I have been content to stay inside with the AC on. It is supposed to be nicer tomorrow and I am going with DH to a car show (he will drive his 62 Nova). Besh - I have read so many books this summer that I would have a hard time listing them all. I did read "The Glass Castle" and loved your comment about it being a "real" memoir! LOL I too thought it was an amazing book and marveled that she and her siblings survived at all. I am reading "Thunderstruck" by Erik Larson right now. I love his writing and attention to detail. I also read "Isacc's Storm" and "The Devil in the White City". He must do an incredible amount of research before he starts a book. I just finished listening to "Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close" by Jonathan Safran Foer. I have to say I cried. Other notable recent reads are, "Water for Elephants" by Sara Gruen, "Left to Tell" (about the genocide in Rwanda) by Immaculee Ilibagzia, and "The Butterfly House" by Marcia Preston. Next up, "Lean Mean Thirteen" by Janet Evanovich. DeeMarie - I have been doing exercises to strengthn my back and keep the muscles stretched and it seems to be helping. I can't sit for too long at the computer, so I haven't been logging on as often as I used to. I can't even sit and read for too long without needing to get up and stretch and move around. I love getting books on tape at the library and listening to them where ever I am. I am considering getting an MP3 player and using my library's resources to download books. Have you read LM13 yet?? Jen - Poor Erica! One time my DS broke his finger and I didn't take him to the doctor's until the next day. He also needed 2 pins to reset the finger. I felt like the worst mother of the year that day. Glad to hear she is on the mend. Patti - Glad Dave got a good report and you can go forward with your trip to TX. I never did get to see those pictures of your DGD! If you get a chance, email me. NHSuzanne - We had such severe storms the last few days too. Trees down in the neighborhood all around me, but we didn't suffer any damage. I am glad you got the brakes fixed and were able to go to VT. I don't have much of a backyard, but I did get some pictures of our local wildlife last week. Can you tell what this is a picture of? DH's is letting me know he is hungry, so I am off to the kitchen.
