visitation issues

I have posted on her before about my skids mother. She is irresponsible, moved out of state with a bf, lives with her parents for a while, lived with her other relatives, and has had little contact with her 3 kids here. She also has other kids now out there. Anyways, we let the 3 kids go stay out of state with her last summer at her parents house for a few weeks. After coming back the youngest was wetting his bed all of a sudden, and the middle child was wetting her pants during the day! We decided that it was the stress of the situation for them, and it eventually stopped. Over time the kids mentioned things that happened there, mom interrogating them about me and their dad as well as telling them that they can tell a judge they want to live with her. They have told us of the bf throwing the youngest onto a bed and him hitting his head on a wall when he refused to eat dinner. They also have told stories of the bf screaming at the youngest and threatening to punch him. Also, the kids said the bf got drunk one night and was screaming at their mom and threatening her and pushing her. All this was with kids present! I guess mom and bf even broke up for a bit while kids were there. (not sure what grandparents saw and thought of all this?)

Anyways fast forward to now. The mom and her bf got their own apartment, still out of state and near grandparents. On the phone the bm has mentioned to the kids coming out there again during spring break and summer and staying at new apartment. Of course me and dh are worried. Grandparents work, so kids can't just stay there and have mom visit them there. We just do not feel comfortable with kids staying at their bm's. If something goes wrong, like last time, they are stuck in that situation and nothing we can do because we will not know about it till they get home.

My question is how should we deal with this? On paper bm has no scheduled visitation. So legally we do not have to let them go. We have always tried to be accommodating to her, and when she lived in state the few and far between times she wanted to take the kids dh always let her. Now we are worried though. The oldest told us she wants to go and when we asked her how she would deal with what happened last time she said she was "over it" and would call us if there are problems. She even suggested that maybe the youngest should not go since the bf mostly has problems with him!!!! She said since mom and bf are not married she wants to go there and break them up before her mom makes the mistake of marrying the bf. What would you do in this situation? I really do not think they should go, and my dh agrees but isn't sure how to handle their bm.
