crown molding on cabs of staggered height

In my cabinet design, I have staggered heights of 42 and 48 inch cabinets. My ceilings are at 9 feet. The designer is adding a solid trim piece to add height (2-3") and then a crown molding on top of that to bring the 48" cabs to the ceiling. Right now, she just has the crown molding on the 42" cabs without the flat 2-3" trim piece. Will this look funny that they do not have the same trim piece as the 48" cabs? But maybe I can't because of the valence over the sink??

And then should that trim piece be consistent on the opposite wall above the breakfast bar and fridge?

Here are pictures... (Note that the lower cabinet to the right of the DW will be 3 deep drawers rather than what's there. Also, the lower cabs at the breakfast bar are not quite accurate in this version.)

Thanks for your feedback!
