While searching for courtyard ideas, I came across this website for vertical gardening in small areas and thought the people here might like to see it.

Very pretty, but I had pots that hung like that and they had to be watered twice a day. They dried out so quickly. I'd think twice about spending money on that arrangement. I do love the vines on the trellises.

According to puter and printer there were no print jobs waiting even though I sent several reports to it. I just deleted the printer, turned off the main computer and printer before my laptop found the HP printer after two failed searches. I ordered a print and dadah! it printed. I think my problems may have come when I tried to print "selection" in google chrome. I tried to follow instructions as to how to do it. They never worked for me but that's when I started getting no prints. Anyway, I did go back to google although it is slower than chrome.

Would a 16 X 16 tile be too big in a very small foyer area?

Thanks Bill. I decided to stay with the 12 X 12 since having only 4 big tiles on the diagonal I think would look funny. I think I will use the 16 X 16 Tile in my small kitchen since there, I will have more tiles.

Eat in Area Dimensions... what's too small?

In my 13x19 kitchen, I had (still have till the reno) a 6 person table - it is too big. The table is 4x6. Here are pics so you can get an idea: First let me say, there is about a foot of space between the table and the window wall. The counters are 24" so that means I have 11 feet for length of the table. 6 of those feet are the table, leaving 2.5 feet on each side, which sounds like it might be enough, but truly is not. When someone is sitting on the one end, you can barely squeeze through to get out the door (and that's if you are a smaller person). The cabinets aren't accessible if anyone sits on the other side. Is 24 inch sink and 24 inch makeup area too small for my side?

I don't need much room at all for my makeup. Like enduring, I keep all my daily cosmetics in a plastic bin - take it out, use what I need, put it back. However, I also don't need a 24" sink. I'd personally reduce the size of the sink and increase the size of the counter. And a 40" sink - is he bathing in it LOL?

I would have a hard time keeping them watered here too but it is such a cute idea for a small space. I did have one hanging basket last year by the back door and it was kind of fun to welcome the morning and give it a drink. I might be too lazy to do more then one.

Those vines are right up my alley though Love them. Fun site Marti. Thanks

I like all the arbors and arches! And, you live in a warm enough area to grow all kinds of wonderful climbing roses and other vines.

If we lived in that type of climate, my husband would probably come home to find the house covered with flowers and vines...and holes cut out for the windows and doors :)

Nice, Marti. Always room for an inspirational gardening site. I'm into gardening. Just about to launch some vertical planting here. If you want something to fill in quick, get a scarlet runner bean. Then stand back!

Great link, Marti! Thanks for the info on the hangingpots, dedtired. I was going to ask about just that, since I'm bad about watering. It also seems like the wind could be a problem.

Oh how I wish I could cover our fence with vines! My parents have a "volunteer" vine on part of their fence in the summer. I wonder how long it would take to get going. I love that herb spiral idea, too.
