Creamy white cabinet selection torture...help!

i am planning for a classic creamy white shaker cabinet, medium tone hardwood floors, light honed granite perhaps bianco antique, subway tile backsplash, stainless steel appliances and some kind of neutral paint color. omega dynasty line is the lead contender but i am stressing about the color of the white - worried it is not creamy enough (don't know if it is warm or cool, not good at this). the white (pearl) looks very white and the oyster does not look white enough. i am always color challenged and my anxiety is starting to build as i get closer to having to make this choice. i know i love benjamin moore white dove as all of my trim is painted that color - this white does not look as nice. this morning i thought maybe i should look at the whites that brookhaven offers but i know they are expensive and i am already over budget with omega. are my concerns valid or with the details described above will it look OK?

A lot of my clients don't realize there are different hues to 'white'. But just look at the range off whites/off whites in the paint stores.

Once I get a clean sheet of white paper and lay it next to the door samples, then they see the cools/warms show up. Some look more gray, more yellow...etc.

I am looking at similar cabinetry/design choices and getting ready to order from Rockglen (semi-custom line for Woodharbor) in Vanilla. It is a warmer, creamy white. My KD says they will have a 2% price increase on June 1, so we will be ordering by the end of the month. We first looked at this line because their inset doors are quite affordable. They offer a couple of other cream/whites as well. Maybe worth a look?

Our cabinets are a true crisp white with a tiny hint of warmth. They are Benjamin Moore Chantilly Lace. I love them because they look so classic, and they don't have any hint of yellow to them despite what type of light we are getting. Our kitchen is north-facing with plenty of light and the colour just "works". Good luck on finding your perfect white or off-white!

Ok thanks. But here's the thing. I don't want a cream kitchen. I want white - but not stark, antiseptic white. Shiloh's polar white is just that. It's definitely creamy, but not ivory. I guess I'll have to wait to bring a sample cabinet into my home but I'm pretty set on that color cabinet (I think it'll work very well with the imperial danby and walnut countertops that I want) and I don't think we're going to be willing to repaint all the trim that we just painted!

Oh, the floor stain. I about had a nervous breakdown last weekend selecting the floor stain. We finally choose Fruitwood (minwax) and I can't say I'm 100% sold yet. Everyone besides me thinks it's perfect. Anyway, my cabinets are white with a glaze that makes them creamy, and the island is maple with a stain and a glaze on it. Here's a pic with several stain samples. The ones shown are (L to R) golden oak, fruitwood, early american and the one across the bottom is provencial. The one I selected definitely looks best with the island - I just love dark wood. Wish I'd have selected Provencial. All are minwax stains. I took some pics since the floors were stained this week, but they aren't in photobucket yet. Will try to post tonight. Also, there was a similar question a couple of days ago. Are cabinets the first thing you're selecting or do you already have flooring, counter material & backslash selected? If you're starting with the cabinets, get samples of the color to see in your light, in your home. I selected my countertop first, so needed to find a cabinet color that looked good with it. I went for one of the mid-range whites. Have you chosen your cabinet maker? Most have white color options - mine had about a half a dozen whites (though one or two definitely looked more yellow than white to me.) Be sure to check the FKB and see what others have painted their cabinets. We went with a really white-white (similar to BM Simply White, I think) that our cabinet guy custom mixed. I worried that it may be too bright, and wouldn't go with the subway tile from HD (Daltile, I believe) and the granite (Bianco Antico)....Once it's all in place, the differences seem to not matter as much. Look at Redroze's FKB and Beekeeperswife's, too. We all have BA granite, so you may want to get ideas from their kitchens.

I have BM White Dove. In the showroom it did not look like a bright white. In my home, it looks very bright. Some say it has a gray undertone but I don't see it. If I could do it over, I would ask if I could bring a sample of a door home and look at it in my lighting. Lighting is very important with any color.
Once you decide and have the cabinets up, really look at them at different times of the day. If possible bring home samples of granite. (I did not do this and there lies another one of my regrets.) You may not want your original choice of granite when you see it next to your cabinets.

babushka_cat - I know - I am color challenged too - and I am still not sure that I ordered the right color white. I ended up going with Fieldstone cabinets in Marshmallow. I really really like the Omega Dynasty in Pearl - but you're the one who needs to like/love it. Do you have a full door sample - or just a small piece? It might help to get a full door sample and look at it in the light of your house/kitchen. Good luck!

A lesson I learned AFTER my creamy cabinets were installed....
Get samples of the finished cabinets, hopefully you can get your hands on some, place them on a white piece of paper and take them outside in daylight. Then, place them in your kitchen, still on the white paper in various spots where the light differs. Against the bright white paper, you'll be able to see undertones of the creamy white, some are yellow, some are pink, etc. This will help you determine if the creamy whites are cool or warm.
