you have our permission.. to do whatever you want to the plants in your garden ... what more can i say??? i dont know what else you need to know.. get saw .. apply to bark.. and continue back and forth motion.. until the top is severed ... it will not kill it ... who knows what it will look like in 10 years ... no one has that answer ... worse thing you can do.. is make it so ugly.. you actually decide to remove it some time ... personally.. i wouldnt do it.. but who cares what i think about your tree ... perhaps a picture will get you alternatives ... have fun.. teach it a lesson on who is in charge of this house.. ken

Is the dog Annie the Golden? She or he looks so friendly! I love all your daylilies, from the delicate color in Swan Angel to the deeply saturated Mandarin's Cloak. Silver Rings and God Save the Queen are wonderful purples that I also grow. The triangular throat on your red noid gives it a special look. There aren't a lot of daylilies with those triangular throats. Your shade garden looks well-tended and peaceful. Finally, the swing with the arbor looks so inviting. Wish I were there right now. Sorry it took so long to get back. There are several essential oil which pregnant women should avoid during pregnany, such as, peppermint, which is a stimulant and used to get labor going. Eucalyptus and Rosemary are also recommended to not use during pregancy. Lavender is used to relax and calm and is used during labor sometimes to calm. Lye, as we all know, is caustic and should not be inhaled even if you are not pregnant. It is a chemical so it should be used very carefully pregnant or not. I am opting to not use during pregnancy, my DH gets to make the CP soap right not :) Regarding FO, they are synthetic chemicals as well and there is not much out there on guidelines on use during pregnancy, I am trying to touch it as little as possible, wearing latex gloves etc. There is so much out there today that can already be harmful during pregnancy that I don't want to add anything else which may harm the developing fetus. Another EO pregnant women should avoid is Pennyroyal (for that matter most women should avoid it) it can actually change your menstrual cycle etc. I am going to read up some more on EO etc during pregancy if I find anything interesting I will post. When you buy more plumbago, be sure you buy the right one that is cold-hardy here. There are two different plumbagos, both with blue flowers, commonly sold in the nursery trade and one is semi-tropical, hardy only to zone 8, and the other one (which is the one I think you have) is a ground-cover type plant that is cold hardy to zone 5. Both of them often are merely labeled only as "Plumbago", leading gardeners to bring home the wrong one sometimes. The tall plumbago is actually a shrub that will get 6-10' high and wide, and it is the semi-tropical one cold-hardy reliably only to zone 8 and higher zones. It is Plumbago auriculata and sometimes is called Cape plumbago. The shorter, ground-cover type of plumbago is Ceratostigma plumbaginoides and it is hardy all the way to zone 5. Yours looks like it is this type of plumbago, so I'll link more info about it.. It often is referred to by the common name leadwort. Hope this helps, Dawn Plumbago (Leadwort)
