LOOKING for: tasty low/no fat recipe

I try to cook and eat low fat but I really have a hard time because I canÂ´t find too many recipes (especialy for cakes and cookies) that really taste good.

So I just wanted to know what your favourite low fat or diet recipe that still maneges to be really delicious is.

In order to eat lo-fat you need to omit meats and the addition of oils in recipes. Have a diet of no fats, no refined sugars and no white flours and you WILL lose weight. Eat whole grains, veggies, fruits, beans and seeds. This is a high fiber way of eating and as a bonus your cholestrol will plummet. When you reach your weight 'goal' have 2 meals a week of anything you want. Refer to drmirkin.com for more info on this way of eating. Sorry, no recipes, just go to the bulk food section to find grains and hit the produce area of the grocery.

I would, in a blender, mix 1/2 cup fat free yogurt( plain!) with 2 T olive oil and 1/2 tsp Coleman's dry mustard, and "some" lemon juice. Start with a tablespoon full. Then add dill to taste. Ought to taste a lot like a mayo based dressing...but it's pretty healthy...no cholesterol in the olive oil, low salt and the mustard and lemon juice are the predominate tastes in mayo. I use that and add garlic, worchestershire and some crumbled blue....which negates all the heart healthy stuff that went before!! LOL! Linda C

I really like Cooking Light. There are some really good recipes. I just decrease my "fat" called for or mainly I use lots of fresh herbs to help with the flavor. Here is a google search on Low Fat Recipe Websites. Also think about quinoa. It is great. Some of the wonderful reasons to eat it, i.e. it taste good, is healthy for you, is gluten free, is high in protein, is a versatile grain for many dishes, is relatively inexpensive, etc. Here is a webpage with some Quinoa Recipes.

We're going out of town for the weekend and both on fat free diets but most of the homemade cookies I'm finding have applesauce or some other soft product that will keep the cookies soft. I want to make a bunch ahead of time to take with us but they will need to be firm. We're in South Texas going to South Louisiana so we also have humidity to deal with. Any suggestions for durable cookies? Thanks for your time and have a nice day.
