As far as I'm concerned the best soy wax on the market is Enchanted Lites.(IMHO) However, there are other soys that are workable and have good results. I like to tell people that the best soy, is the one closest to them...LOL Shipping is a pain in the arse, might as well catch a break... on the bottom of the list in the link below is a great company to deal with. Hello, I read your post and use to buy & sell Party Lite candles. I stopped using them when I found out that Party Light candles are not all made here in the USA which we did not like since we had no knowledge of the quality of the materials used in making their candles. We agree, Party Lite had a nice scent throw but the soot is far too much for our liking. We couldnt help wonder what it was doing to our lungs. So to find a healthier alternitive to burning candles, Many years ago, I became interested in making my own candles. I have sold them in my own retail locations for years. I have made all sort of candles using many types of waxes. Overall (next to beeswax) we prefer soy wax. There is no dispute that soy wax is a much cleaner wax to burn. We have had great results from our soy candles and our customers come back for more. We found that measuring our fragrances by weight, not by volume gave us a better scent throw. We also found that buying a higher quality of fragrance oil also worked well for us. At times, depending on the fragrance, we have used 1.5 ounces (by weight) of fragrance oil per pound of wax. Keep in mind, wax is like a sponge and can only hold so much fragrance oil. Too much oil and you can get the opposit effect and have a poor scent throw. It is important to mix the fragrance oils very well to make sure they bind to the wax. Without aggitating, we mix ours for about two minutes. Hope this is helpful. Debbie

What I find works best is heating the container in the microwave or with a heat gun to melt down the leftover wax. (Just make sure the metal portion of the wick is removed first if you microwave). Once the wax is melted, I pour out the excess and wipe the container with a paper towel. They come out very clean and I usually put them in the dishwasher after that. Also, if your soy candles are not burning cleanly, try trimming the wick after each burn. If I do that, there is hardly any residue at all.

For the past nine years I've been ordering my candle supplies from Bittercreek Candle Supply (candlesupply.com). They are located in two different states, Northern Wisconsin and Texas. Their prices are in the mid-range but I have found that if you buy cheap, you get cheap!!! I get the EZ Soy wax flakes. Bittercreek has 'everything' you would want to make candles, soaps, anything that can be scented. The last time I was at their site they didn't carry essential oils yet. They've been working on it tho. They are pretty picky on where they get their stuff so they must not have been able to find a good place to get it. If I need help with something, all I have to do is call and anybody that answers the phone will be able to answer your question. The owners are wonderful people. Just to let you know, I don't work for them and I don't get a kick back for reccommending anyone to them. I have tried so many other candle suppliers and have not been satisfied. A couple of years after I started making and selling candles, soy wax became available. I quickly switched and fell in love with the soy wax. I'm not cutting down parrafin by no means, I just prefer soy.
