jojoba spheres

Hazel - What happened with your jojoba spheres? Did you ever hear back from the seller? And have you rec'd your soap petal mold yet? Sandra

Haven't received the mold yet....hoping it gets here soon...it's only coming from over by atlanta, so it should only take a day or two from the time she mails it......

as to the jojoba spheres....i ordered from sunshine soapworks just after midnight on the 6th. I gave them till monday, & I emailed & said to cancel my order. She called me on tuesday, apoligizing & said she had bronchitius & had been out of the office since wednesday.

I called bitter creek today, ordered jojoba spheres & some samples of their lotion base & milk bath & my order has already shipped, due on the 17th.

So, hopefully by next week I will have both new toys to play with.
I'll update you as I progress on.

well, the soap petal mold arrived yesterday, (it was maryland, not atlanta...blonde moment......).
Haven't had a a chance to use it yet, it's a bit different than what I THOUGHT it would be. Looks just like the picture on the web site, but for some reason **I** had a different, I don't know, picture of it in my head (again, blonde....). I will try it out, maybe tonight & let you know how it goes. There are 8 bigger "petals" around the outside edge, & 4 smaller ones in the middle. The opening for the "bigger" petal is a TINY bit bigger than my thumb-I can set my thumb flat in the hole w/o touching the edges of the hole, but it goes down deep where the petal curls. will be interesting to see how they come out....will try & post a pic if i get any done.

Hi, I'm not a soap or candle maker, but I lurk here sometimes, you are all so creative! I saw your question and went on a mission to find an answer! I always have 3 or 4 bottles of that BBW soap on hand, and love the stuff :) I may be wrong, but from what I can find, the Triclosan isn't the beads, it's an antibacterial agent. The beads are either polymer beads or polyethylene beads. I checked the label on one of the bottles of BBW soap, and they list polyethylene as an ingredient. Now, I can't find much on polyethylene or polymer beads other than they're used in soaps (duh), and there's special suspension bases that are used to keep the beads floating rather than sinking. I did however find Jojoba spheresthat are also used as an exfolient. They also come in differnt colors and can be used in scrubs, soaps, gels, etc. Hopefully this helps :)

I'll start this by saying: These are just MY OPINIONS, for what they are worth! As an ebay seller, 9 negatives out of 250 feedback is a pretty high percentage! As an ebay buyer, I'd avoid her on ebay & a web site! (Just my opinion) As an ebay seller & a person with a web site those excuses as to why she hasn't dealt with you order (as far as you can tell) don't wash with me. If you are going to sell on the internet in any venue-web site, ebay, whatever, you need to plan to deal with that. It's not any different than any other "job", except that you are working from home, & some people just don't do that well. (I had cellulitisis (which started spreading) & an upper respriatroy infection last June. Flat on my back in bed for 2 days, then basically stuck resting for the rest of the week. Even when I was stuck in bed, I got up once a day to check the computer-maybe for a whole 5 minutes, but if there was an email that needed an answer, they got a VERY SHORT answer, ending with I am alive, but sick. if you need more info, I'll get it to you asap, but it will be a day or so. [phrased better, of course]. I also have a friend who lives about Â½ hr away, if I CAN'T do the computer because I'm too sick, she'll come over & do it.) Ebay & my web site made up the majority of my craft income last year, I can't afford to run it badly.....and people like this lady make people cautious of buying on the internet.... Sorry about the rant, & sorry for your bad experience with that seller! I hope it resolves in your favor-either getting the order, or contacting the CC company & stopping payment. I got mine, & only tried them once in regular M+P base. I melt my base in a glass measuring cup. Added the spheres, & stired, & they suspeneded GREAT--in the cup. Upon pouring, they all ended up on the top (bottom) of the bar of soap. I don't know if I would have cooled the base anymore if they would have stayed suspended or not, but I also haven't had time to play with them either...... Let me know if anyone has any better luck with them.... Hazel

You might want to check http://www.chemistrystore.com/jojobaspheres.htm for the jojoba spheres. Not sure how the price range is for others, but it is one spot I have found. You can also go to them for glitter (shimmer dust) http://www.chemistrystore.com/glitter.htm Again, I am not sure how the price compares with other sites.

well the jojoba spheres arrived today. haven't played with them yet, but they are TINY!!!!! they could be dew drops on fairy flowers.......sounds silly, but can't think of another way to describe them......was going to try to take a picture, but they will just show up as a blob. An ounce is in a zip top bag about 3" x 3". I'm going to play with some soap tonight, I'll see if I can get something done with them......
