I've heard and broken all the rules....I'm just chiming in to give you your smile for the day! When YDS was about 5 or 6, all of the family gathered for T'giving dinner. DS had helped me with the tabledecorations and had made a couple of pine cone turkeys to display. We had a couple of candleholders that matched our "decor", so I stuck a candle in them and DS was sooooo excited to get to eat by candlelight. My Dad(who was most interested in the FOOD) sat down and immediately yowled because he "couldn't SEE what he was eating....turn ON the LIGHTS" DS was crestfallen, so I had to take Daddy in hand and convince him that it was really all right to eat by candlelight on T'giving!! He mumbled, but the kidlets all enjoyed the ambiance!!!!

Your question really is whether the base of the soy candle is safe on your skin and whether the additives like scent and color are also safe on the skin. My uneducated guess is that it wouldn't permanently harm you, however it is possible you would get a slight skin irritation. The folks that could tell you the best would be ones at Tulalit. They know exactly all the ingredients in the candles. I'd just e-mail them and ask.

There are some inaccurate comments here. Dirt and damage are NOT ordinary wear and tear (which would be something like a smudge behind the sofa on the wall). Your tenant is required to deliver the premises back to you in the same condition in which they were delivered, absent "ordinary wear and tear". Again Dirt and Damage are NOT ordinary wear and tear. Hire a cleaner, have the cleaner put the place in appropriate rent-ready condition, and deduct the cost from the security deposit. Also deduct the cost of any repairs necessary. In some states you cannot deduct the cost of your own time. I don't clean after tenants anymore. That burden is on them. I gave them a white-glove clean property, and they will pay to deliver one back to me, if they fail to do so. You are required to make a written accounting of the security deposit within your state limits - most are 30 days. Some are 45 days. Be sure you do this, as the tenant can recover treble damages from you in some states if you fail to do so. You can most definitely disallow smokers and pet owners in your property. They are not protected classes. Charge every dime it take to put the premises back in order and never allow smokers and pet owners, unless you don't mind extra damage. If you do allow pet owners, maybe one older dog won't do that much damage. I have allowed 2 different 8 year old dogs that were long-term pets with good references over the years. No puppies EVER. No replacement dogs. No smoking ever.

Ive found the throw can be hit or miss depending on the actual fragrance oils you use. We've always done 8% FO at 185 high temp, then cool to 135 then pour. Experimentation is always important, even if it takes time to get it right. As a graphic designer, I keep my wax supplies and melting rig right next to my computer, so I can do tests while I work.
