I have found (with cats) that the best neutralizer is OUT concentrate (both bother with the ready to use). I have used this to totally get rid of urine smells. Even through a mattress and boxspring (my previous cats didn't like that I left them for my honeymoon). You dilute it with warm warm, soak the area, cover with damp towel, let sit for 24 hours, & let dry. Never failed. Don't know for sure, but I think you can use it on the dog/cat. Could her smell be from her diet? With our last dog, improving her diet made a big difference in her body odor. Just a thought.

Stinking laundry and washer is people's fault. The more chemicals and additives you use, the worse it gets. First, got heater? Use it as often as you can. Or wash in hottest water possible often, specially towels. Proper detergent dosing is a must. If you use pre treatments and additives like soda, borax, bleach, oxy or whatever, use extra rinses otherwise over time there will be build up and it will stink. Prewash helps too. Don't store damp laundry in hamper. Already smelly laundry takes several washing cycles to get the stink out. I never ever use bleach cause I'm alergic to it but ammonia works great too if needed. Febreeze just covers up odors and it is just another chemical that needs to be washed out. Enough good quality detergent, hot water and extra rinses will keep laundry smell free. Everybody tries to save water and electricity but in the long run it doesn't work. Fls don't use enough water to rinse properly. I didn't read all posts so if I repeat something that someone already mentioned, I apologize. Honestly, I don't do tub clean, I just clean the bottom filter. I use little extra detergent(hard water) and lots of extra rinsing. One more thing I'd like to add. It just hapened. Three days ago I did two loads of laundry. I have two washers. My little euro washer shares 220 plug w/dryer so when big LG finished, I put the laundry in the dryer. But b/c I had to unplug the little washer and the laundry there wasn't finished-just rinsed once, I transfered it in to the big LG to finish it. There was some soapy water left inside the little washer. Today I started loading the small washer again and I could smell mildew. Well, it was the leftover dirty water from 3 days ago that I forgot about. I drained it and did load on 194 degrees and it is all right. Yes, what you eat will definitely affect stool odor. Awhile back there was a british program on tv, "You Are What You Eat" where she'd do a diet makeover on people who were overweight with lousy diets. As part of her thing, she'd do a stool sample analysis. She would say that while it will have some smell, it shouldn't send anyone running and screaming from the bathroom if the person is eating a healthy diet. Diet will also affect the amount of flatulence. I remember awhile back that the mythbusters did a test on that by changing Jamie's diet and they collected all the gas and measured it. Things like high fiber foods and esp bean and cabbages made a lot more gas. When his diet was low in fiber and high in protein, much less so. I've always been suspicious of the things you put on the water though, as once the stool is below the water line, there should be no more odor. After all that's why they have traps in drains. The trap stays full of water and blocks sewer gases from getting back into the room. So if they work, it must be that they generate a pleasant odor from the water surface that helps mask other smells.

As above. You will WANT to take out the floors that are there. You have a photo with sheet vinyl...that needs to come out. You post another photo of something that looks like stone. This one *might be able to stay....so long as you give it a HIGH-END clean and then polish it out and reseal...and remove/replace the grout. Or just jack it out if you want something new. I always chuckle when people try to go over top of a soiled floor. Why would you try that? It would be like throwing down a new bed sheet over top of a an old one that is filled with urine. Yuck! Remember: anything that is LEFT IN PLACE will CONTINUE to give off odour. So imagine all that money and work to put in flooring over top....only to have to spend MORE MONEY to rip out the "new", remove the old, purchase MORE flooring (because the "new" is now contaminated/too damaged to be useful) and then pay to have it installed - again. So the best thing to do: is do it properly the first time. That means ripping out the old. Cleaning all surfaces. Refinishing all surfaces that contain ordours (6 sides to a cube = 6 surfaces per room = ceilings, walls, floors, windows, doors, trim, etc). There are ways to deodorize somethings....but the best way to do this is to remove and replace as much as possible. Anything that cannot be removed/replaced can be dealt with using specialized products. But floors need to come out. Then you can do what you want whenever you want. It is much easier.
