What kind of mold you use is really a matter of preference, metal, plastic etc. Or you can use things you have around the house like yogurt containers. The type of wick will depend on the type of wax, size of the candle or if it's a container candle. I'd suggest getting a few books on candle making and reading up on it more. There's nothing more frustrating than making a candle and not having it come out or burn right.

I've been making candles for the past 25 years and the one thing that I can tell you that you will hear again and again is TEST TEST TEST.. and it's truly the best advice to give.. I do not sell my candles but I give you some tips on making them; 1)Use good quality oils to begin with. If you haven't already done so, you will need to get some samples of oils & wicks, to test them. 2)Measure, measure, measure! 1 oz. of oil per pound of wax is generally accepted as a safe, effective ratio. 3)Monitor temperature. Add scent around 180 degrees F. (Too hot & the scent will evaporate) Pour at around 100-110 degrees F, so you will not crack the glass and the top of the candle will look smooth.

Crayons are fine for colorant. I advise against the glitter, because I do not know if is is safe, when exposed to heat & flame. As for "food essence", I have no idea what that is. There are fragrance oils, made specifically for candles. They should be safe & work the best.
