Biscotti silgranit sink in dark countertop

Anyone have any photos of a Blanco silgranit sink in a dark countertop? I still don't have a "name" for my current granite of choice, but I think it might be leathered Labrador (maybe.) The silgranit sample I got looks quite pretty with the granite - picks up the accent color nicely. I'd just like to see how it looks with that much contrast between a full-size sink and a full-size countertop (as compared to my little samples!)

If anyone could post any pix (even of something similar) that would be great. Yes, we're actually hoping to put both of these decision to bed by this weekend. Thanks - SQ

Next week I'll have pictures of the exact opposite - light counter with a dark grey silgranit sink. The dark picks up darker spots in the counter. I'll post next week if still needed.

Thanks Gemini....I think we're working on the same (yet opposite?) premise. My light sink picks up the lighter spots in the granite. If you want to post next week, I'd love to see!! (And I'm sure many others would too.)

rhome, I'm starting to gravitate toward the fireclay sinks. People who have them say they feel like china and are easy to keep looking clean, and that's very appealing to me. Are you able to do a farmhouse style sink since you can't do an undermount? solferino, that is a gorgeous sink! And guess what! I love the blue. I'm planning some blue accents in my kitchen, but that blue may be too dark. But maybe not! I also saw 2 other sinks on that Whitehaus site that I really liked: the concave and the raised panel. I think that extra detail on the front gives it a bit more elegant, less country look. I just wish they were a little bigger ... they're only 27 inches wide inside. Herbeau has a similar sink that's larger but also quite a bit more expensive. Thanks so much for the suggestions! Erika

The only possible problem I can think of is that if you want the sink color to match the soapstone, and you get the dark sink, then you are committed to keeping the counters dark (by oiling). Depending on your soapstone, the oiling will be more or less frequent. So, just make sure you are equally happy for times when the sink is anthracite, and the counters look lighter gray. Unless you oil regularly, soapstone can be ever changing in its color. (Not always, but can be.) :-) francy

I'm not sure where you can see the various colors, but the Pegasus sink offered at HD is made for Pegasus by Blanco and it's basically the same sink, different shape and IMHO the finish is not as nice looking as the Blanco brand sink. I've also heard that Expo and Great Indoors have them but in what color or style, I'm not sure. You can also go to the Blanco website to see where it might be in stock locally. Marin County isn't at all a remote area so I'd be surprised if there wasn't a Kitchen/bath showroom somewhere that didn't have them. For what it's worth, I was very hesitant about buying something like this not only sight unseen, but from online as well. So I did my research and after seeing it at HD, I took the risk. And I'm so glad I did! It's just plain pretty and I can't wait until it's installed. (still have a couple weeks to go)

What is the name of that granite? It looks similar to what I picked out--Golden Ray is what they said at the store, but when I've looked online, what I picked looks more like Golden Beach. Either way, I love it and I purchased silgranit sinks in anthracite with Danze ORB faucets. Hoping it will all look cohesive when it's all in, which will be another month or so. My biggest problem now, is deciding on a backsplash. I might have to go without and then do it later because I'm so indecisive about it. I am super excited about the silgranit sinks--I've heard so many great things about them!! House building involves so many decisions. I'm glad it's almost over and that I'll be enjoying it, hopefully by Christmas!!

how dark is the granite.
I think mine is darkish
My sink is cream colored(champagne it is called by Kindred because the sink i needed didn't come in biscotti which was and still is my first love of colour)

for some reason I don't have close up finished pictures but here is what i have

Muspic - Thanks for the pix....and they are lovely!! My granite is darker, but like your combination, I think the sink is just about exactly the color of my cabinets. I love the way yours looks, and I think I'll love mine as well.

I pulled the trigger yesterday and ordered the Blanco Cascade Super Single in Biscotti - so there's no going back!!! I had to have that sink. We'll probably make the final decision on the granite this weekend. I'm feeling pretty good about my choices.

I also ordered our faucet (Briza iin Venitian Bronze, an old fashioned looking bridge faucet.) If only these silly little structural problems would stop popping up. (Big sigh....but I love my old house.)

Muspic - it seems that very often when I'm on here I'm writing about things that my husband and I are disagreeing about for the kitchen. He was such a sweetheart about this entire sink/faucet situation. He really thought we'd be getting a double stainless steel sink - that's what I thought until I came here to GW. He realized how much I loved the Blanco, how much I researched it, and how much I had to have it. It was a no-brainer.

Then, I've spent so much time talking about the pull-down versus pull-out faucet decision, I didn't even realize that this wasn't really what I wanted in my kitchen. Every time I saw a photo of one of those bridge faucets I swooned. Again, that decision was a no-brainer for him. Thanks for making me think with your post.
