Scrap Printing....??

Hello all..I may be in the wrong area..this borders on computer and scrapping..I am just beginning to do a book for my daughter's 30 th birthday. I am using pictures printed on photopaper and my scanner and a photo album kit.. old press clippings and using her awards and things..Can someone help me with an idea on how to organize..it is so overwheiming..what to use and what not to use..can someone help please... I will still have all the origional in tact when done...making copies the originals..I would like any help and ideas ..know this is similiar to scrap booking yet a little different..I realise the paper will not be acid free..but making it any way...Thanks for any help..Nebgranny..

Actually, Nebgranny, you can make it all acid-free and archival! If you'll check your local office supply store, there are several brands of multi-use copy paper that's acid-free; that would mean your labor of love will last for your grandchildren as well.
As far as organizing goes, chronological order makes the most sense to me; I've seen it done other ways, though--like by subject(i.e., all school stuff together, all holiday pics together, extracurricular stuff,etc.).
A friend who's doing something similar came to the conclusion that it's best, especially with certificates and clippings, to use a fair representation but not every single piece.
Another thing to remember is to include as many of your memories, in the form of journaling, as possible--that's what will make it really personal, a unique love-offering :)

Thank you kidzmom ..I am having a great time doing this..just started today...the ideas you gave are great..I have decided to do the chrono ..it just seems to make sense to me..I am going to keep the certificates and awards the real size..Thanks again...If you have any more wonderful ideas please post!!

Beverly, If the dryer sheets are the right size I think you could use them just fine - on the other hand....with this block, size doesn't matter so much, you could make the block 7", 6" or 5" just as long as you trim all the blocks to the same size. Start your block with your foundation 1" larger than what size you want it to end up being. I do not know whether the color catcher sheets would work as a foundation or not. Sorry. Teresa

Jayne, This is a class on scrap techiques - we will not be making an entire quilt. I have suggested above that you make one block of each technique that I post, print out the directions or save them on your computer and put the block (and directions) in a folder or box for save keeping. Teresa

this is great a year or so ago I asked about the digital scrapbooking. I'll study your great layouts more. I love what they are doing with todays scrapbooking and wish I had started 40 years ago but find I look at things more on the computer now. I also believe you can put the pages on CD's and play thru a tv at least that is what I've heard. thanks for coming over here.
