Thinking about trying this

Hi everyone! This is my first time to this site and I am intrigued. I was in a craft store last week and saw some beautiful scrapbook pattern books and paper books, along with tons of stickers. It all looked so nice that I thought I might like to try this. I have lots of questions, though. Maybe you can answer some.

1) Why use acid free paper?

2) How do you cut out shapes and borders so evenly?

3) Do you use ordinary white glue?

4) Should I use my actual pictures or scan them and print them out on photo paper?

5) I saw books of patterned paper, do you use these for backgrounds or shapes?

6) What is the best type of scrapbook to use?

I hope that is not too many questions. Someone here gave the link to dmarie and I went there and looked at some of the layouts. Some of them are great, others are too "busy" for my tastes.

I am not a very creative person and I need a pattern or picture to go by. Maybe with your help, I can get a nice scrapbook done.
